Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday awarded Assistant Sub-Inspector Rank to Vir Chakra awardee Satpal Singh, who had been working as a traffic constable since 2010 after getting discharged from Indian Army a year earlier. The brave Satpal Singh was conferred with Vir Chakra Award for his action in 1999 Kargil War. Satpal was a Sepoy, twenty years ago, battling Pakistan Army’s counter-attacks, on Tiger Hill in which he killed Captain Karnal Sher Khan of the Northern Light Infantry and three others. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1155775618384109569 Punjab CM, earlier on Kargil Vijay Diwas announced that the govt. has promoted Satpal to the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector from Senior Constable, noting his action during Kargil War. We'll take them in and take care of them.
