Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has condoled the death of eminent journalist Gobind Thukral, who died this morning at the age of 80. Thukral, who had been ailing for quite some time, is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Describing Gobind Thukral as one of north India’s leading journalists, Captain Amarinder said he had contributed immensely to both English vernacular media, particularly during the dark period of militancy, on which he reported fearlessly. Also Read: Captain Amarinder Singh presses for the exclusion of dairy products from RCEP negotiations As a founder member and also former President of the Chandigarh Press Club, he also gave journalists of the region a platform to connect, the Chief Minister pointed out, extending his sympathies to the bereaved family. Media Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Raveen Thukral has also, meanwhile, expressed grief at the demise of Gobind Thukral and offered his deepest condolences to the family in their hour of sorrow. -PTC News-
