Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi promises jobs for youth

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Sunday said that the government officials and employees above the age of 58 would vacate their positions and give a job to the youth.

While interacting with media after handing over Debt Relief Certificates to the farm laborers and landless farmers, and launching Digital mapping under Mission Lal Lakeer for villages falling under Sri Chamkaur Sahib assembly constituency, the Chief Minister said that the youth will be given jobs.

On Navjot Singh Sidhu raising concerns over DGP's appointment, he said that the appointment was yet to be made for which a list of 10 officers has been sent to the Centre.

He added that the Centre will send back a panel of three names out of which one will be appointed as DGP after only having consultations with the Cabinet and other senior leadership.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi launched digital mapping of properties using drone under Mission Lal Lakeer for villages falling under Sri Chamkaur Sahib assembly constituency after a state level function at Morinda.

Likewise, the Chief Minister kick strated the paddy procurement operations at Grain Market, Morinda, district Rupnagar.
