Punjab CM asks Education Minister to Submit a report on Teachers' Protest Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has asked the Education Minister OP Soni to submit a report on the struggle of Punjab Government teachers. The Chief Minister was not satisfied the way Ministry of Education in general and Education Secretary in particular had handled the whole situation. The Education Department on Monday suspended five union leaders. They were among those 11 people who were sitting on fast-unto-death in Patiala against the decision passed by the Cabinet. Those five union leaders were working on contractual basis under SSA/RMSA. Also Read: Physical education no more important for Punjab The cabinet has reduced the salaries of Sarav Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhmik Shikha Abhiyan (RMSA) teachers from Rs 45,800 to Rs 15,000. OP Soni, on Monday, warned the Sanjha Morcha teachers who were protesting against the decision of the Cabinet. He warned them if they failed to join duties in their respective schools and colleges they would have to face strict action. -PTC NEWS
