Punjab CM says no proof against Majithia in drug issue
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday said there is no proof against Akali leader Bikram Majithia in drug case.
Captain Amarinder Singh said,’ this matter is with the CBI and ED, but “at the moment” we do not have anything with us. The investigation is on.’
Punjab CM had earlier said, “You must understand a government does not arrest anyone just for the sake of it. You must have concrete evidence. You cannot out of the air send anyone behind bars. We have set up a high-powered Special Task Force (STF) to check drugs. On the Majithia issue, the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department, Narcotics Control Bureau and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence are already on the job, and we cannot override them.”
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had also tendered an apology to former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia in connection with Delhi CM’s allegations against him over drugs issue.
