The rift in Punjab Congress seems to have ended as newly appointed Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday met Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh at his office.
The media advisor to CM, Raveen Thukral, informed that "Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu and PPCC working presidents Kuljit Nagra, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Sukhwinder Singh Danny, and Pawan Goel call on Captain Amarinder Singh at his office."
Meanwhile, senior Cabinet Minister Brahma Mahindra and Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar were also present during the meeting.
It may be recalled that Punjab Chief Minister had demanded a public apology from the Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu for his derogatory remark against CM.
It was for the second time in nearly four months that both Sidhu and Singh met each other. The two leaders were not seen together in the past few months.
On July 23, Navjot Sidhu took charge as Punjab Congress’ President in the presence of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, marking the end of a bitter infight.
The cricketer-turned-politician has been appointed as the PPCC chief by the Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.
