Punjab: SHO, 3 ASIs test positive for coronvirus in Ludhiana

Punjab: While Ludhiana has been reporting more than 80 new coronavirus cases in a single day over a couple of days, the district on Monday reported 4 new cases of coronavirus.

According to the information, the new cases include a Station House Officer (SHO) of Ludhiana's Division Number 3 and 3 Assistant sub-inspector of police.

As per the Punjab Health Department, Ludhiana reported 95 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday. On the other hand, a total of 182 COVID patients in Ludhiana were declared cured and discharged on Sunday. Ludhiana had reported 5 new deaths due to coronavirus on Sunday.

Among the new cases reported on Monday, 13 are from Fatehgarh Sahib, 12 from Pathankot, and 7 from Patiala.

The coronavirus cases in Punjab have been rising ever since the government has announced relaxation in the restrictions imposed during the lockdown. Likewise, the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has asserted the need to wear face masks and maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
