A 48-year-old policeman doing patrol duty for the past week died of a heart attack in Patiala's Samana in the wee hours of Saturday. As per the report, he has been identified as ASI Mian Singh, 48. Mian Singh was posted at Samana Sadar police station. He was on a patrol duty following the curfew orders imposed in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
Mian Singh died while on duty at Khari Fatan village in Samana around 3.30 am. Reportedly, the police officials rushed him to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. Mian was on duty for 14 to 16 hours.
Punjab Curfew
Punjab Government ordered a curfew in the state in an order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Despite the curfew imposed in the state, the residents in Amritsar were seen stepping out on Saturday. Likewise, the grocery stores and diaries were open from 6 am to 9 am in most of the areas.
Even Bathinda witnessed a huge crowd on the streets. In fact, all the shops remained closed, but some provision and grocery stores were seen selling items through the backdoor of their shops.

Coronavirus in Punjab
Punjab has reported 38 coronavirus cases so far, with just one death in the state. Of 38, one patient has been recovered in Amritsar. The coronavirus has been declared as a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
