Punjab Elections 2022: Clash breaks out between AAP-BJP workers
Punjab Assembly Election 2022: As the polling in for the 177-seat assembly in Punjab is underway, a clash broke out between workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the border village Jalloo Kee of Ferozepur (urban) constituency on Sunday.
According to reports, one AAP worker Surjit Singh sustained minor injuries during the scuffle.
A police team was rushed to the spot after getting the information about the scuffle and took charge of the situation.
Meanwhile, conflicts between various political parties have been reported in several parts of Punjab. According to sources, a scuffle broke out between Akali and Congress workers at booths 47 and 48 in Zira's Malhuwaliawala Village. During this time, the workers in the party began throwing stones at each other. There have also been reports of gunshots.

The matter, however, has been taken over by the police, who claim to have everything under control.
Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Shiromani Akali Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party alliance and Bharatiya Janata Party-former chief minister Amarinder Singh's Punjab Lok Congress party are all major players in this multi-cornered election.

Over 2.14 crore voters of the state will decide the fate of 1304 candidates in the fray from 117 constituencies. The polling started at 8 am and will continue till 6 pm.
Apart from three special state observers, the Election Commission of India has appointed 65 general observers, 50 expenditure observers and 29 police observers, who are keeping a close vigil on the proceedings.
The results of the Punjab Assembly election will be announced on March 10.
