Punjab elections 2022: Former minister Joginder Mann joins AAP
Mohali: With the Punjab Assembly elections 2022 nearing, former Punjab minister Joginder Singh Mann, who recently quit the Congress, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday.

Punjab co-in-charge, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Raghav Chadha Joginder Singh Mann's joining would give a major boost to the party in Punjab, where the Assembly elections are scheduled for February 14, 2022.
Joginder Singh Mann was Punjab's former Cabinet minister and three-time MLA. He joined the AAP after ending his 50-year-old association with the Congress. Currently, he was the chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corp.
He is a leader from the Scheduled Caste community. However, he left the Congress over party's inaction in the post-matric SC scholarship scam and non-grant of district status to Phagwara.
In a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the three-time MLA from Phagwara said he had a dream that he would die as a Congressman. "But with the Congress patronising the guilty of the post-matric scholarship scheme, my conscience doesn't allow me to stay here," he had said.

The voting for the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022 would be held on February 14 and the results would be declared on March 10.
