Punjab Farmer Falls Into Ravi, Feared To Have Flown Towards Pakistan Ludhiana, Punjab: A farmer from Punjab accidentally fell into Ravi River on Tuesday is feared to have flown towards Pakistan. Balwinder Singh (53), a resident of Ghonewal village was working on his fields which happened to be on the river bank when this incident occurred.  He accidentally fell into an upstream from where the Ravi enters Pakistan. Also Read 12 lakh fishlings to be released in Beas river SHO Mantej Singh confirmed that missing person report was filed by the family members. The incident took place in the afternoon and the family members immediately informed the BSF authorities. They shared the information details with the Pakistan Rangers so that they could save him if found in their territory. Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar was also informed about this incident and he spoke to DIG and BSF to help trace and save him. Balwinder Singh could not be traced till late evening on Tuesday. Because of continuous heavy rains in the state, the river was a flurry. According to some eyewitnesses, he was seen being swept away in the river towards Pakistan. -PTC NEWS
