Punjab forest scam: VB hands over files to central agency ED for further investigation

Mohali, October 23: Along with the Vigilance Bureau, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has now caught sight of the multi-crore forest scam of Punjab. The records related to the case have been handed over to the ED by the Vigilance Bureau. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the ED will now register another FIR in this. After which further action will be taken based on the further investigation. After this, a petition was filed by the ED in the special court in September. The record related to the case was sought from the Vigilance Bureau, which was probing the case through the court. In the petition, the ED had sought the Vigilance Bureau to provide certified copies of the charge sheet and other documents so that it could start its investigation in the matter. After this, the documents related to the forest scam have been handed over to the ED on behalf of Vigilance. In such a situation, if the sources are to be believed, then the process of registering a case will be done by the ED. After that the accused will be arrested. After the Aam Aadmi Party took power in the state, the Vigilance Bureau was the first to expose crores of rupees in the forest department scam. During this, the role of many people including two former ministers of the Congress government, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and Sangat Singh, his nephew Daljit Singh, Punjab's chief Conservator Praveen Kumar, DFO Gurmanpreet Singh and Vishal Chauhan, had come to the fore.
