Punjab Government extends winter holidays

Giving a relief to the school students, Punjab Government on Monday extended the winter holidays amid cold wave in northern India including Punjab. The school will now open on January 3, 2020 instead of January 1, 2020. The winter holidays in all the government and private schools in the state started from December 25. The holidays were from December 25 to December 31. Due to the extreme cold waves, Punjab's Education Department has decided to reopen the school on January 3, 2020. https://www.ptcnews.tv/chandigarh-witnesses-the-coldest-december-night-in-5-years-en/ Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) was quopted by ANI as saying, "Delhi likely to record the most coldest day today in last 119 years for the month of December as day temperature till 1430 IST today has been unusually following the coldest trend with Safdarjung at 1430 IST has 9.4 degree Celsius." Likewise, IMD predicted the fog intesification in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. Meanwhile, Chandigarh witnessed the coldest December night in span of 5 years. -PTC News
