From dine-in facility in restaurants to gathering at parties, Punjab govt issues fresh guidelines

Punjab government on Tuesday issued fresh guidelines for restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality services as a part of phased reopening (Lockdown 5.0/Unlock 1). In an order dated June 6, the restaurants and hotels were allowed to re-open without a dine-in facility. Meanwhile, it has now been decided to relax the conditions for the opening of restaurants, hotels and other hospitality services. The restaurants have been allowed the dine-in facility till 8 pm with 50 percent occupancy or 50 guests, whichever is less. Similarly, the management will comply with the SOPs. The restaurants in hotels are allowed to serve food including buffet meals up to 50 percent of their seating capacity or 50 guests. The timings for both hotel guests as well as the persons from outside would be till 8 pm. Meanwhile, the bars have been directed to remain closed. However, the liquor can be served in the rooms and restaurants, as permitted under the Excise policy of Punjab.
