Punjab govt orders re-issuance of Dogra certificates

The Dogra youth living in the state can now fulfill their dream of joining the armed forces after the Government of Punjab ordered the re-issuance of Hindu Dogra certificates. The eligible youngsters belonging to the Dogra community in the state were unable to get recruited into the army, air force, navy, and paramilitary forces without Dogra certificates. Punjab government on Thursday issued an order in this regard. The Dogras are given relaxation in height category during the recruitment procedure as they are on average shorter than the recruits from other communities. The possession of Dogra certificate authenticated that they belong to the Dogra community. Without the Dogra certificate, the youth of Dogras community who were short were not able to get recruited as they didn’t have the paperwork to back their claim that they were from the Dogra community and therefore, no relaxation was given to them.
