Punjab relaxes night curfew for Janmashtami

Punjab government on Tuesday announced relaxation in night curfew during the night of August 12 and 13 on account of Janmashtami 2020. In an order signed by the Special Chief Secretary (Home), it has been stated that as per the guidelines conveyed vide office letter dated August 8, the directions were issued for night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am throughout the state and from 9 pm to 5 am in 3 cities i.e. Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Patiala. Meanwhile, in a partial relaxation of these guidelines, it has been decided that night curfew during the night of August 12 and 13 would be from 1 am to 5 am on the account of Janmashtami in all the districts of the state. Likewise, the district magistrates have been directed to issue the orders accordingly.
