Punjab Governor Sh.V.P.Singh Badnore expresses grief at Amritsar Tragedy Punjab Governor Sh.V.P.Singh Badnore has expressed profound grief over the tragic incident today in Amritsar in which about nearly 50 people have reportedly died. In a statement issued here today, the Governor termed it as the most tragic and unfortunate incident. The Governor has also spoken to the DGP and district administration to provide to provide every kind of support and assistance at this hour of tragedy and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. The incident took place when a large number of people were watching the Ravana effigy going in flames while standing along the railway tracks when the train mowed them down. The sub-divisional magistrate, Rajesh Sharma, said that more than 50 bodies have been found. More than 100 injured people are rushed to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.
