Punjab govt issues clarification on opening of bars in hotels, malls and multiplexes
Punjab government on Tuesday issued guidelines on re-opening of more activities in areas outside containment zones even as it issued a clarification on the opening of Bars in Hotels and Shopping Malls and multiplexes.
The Punjab government led by Captain Amarinder Singh clarified that the State government has now also decided to allow the opening of Bars in Hotels, Shopping Malls, and multiplexes located in areas outside containment zones in Punjab.

The government has also stated that the concerned management must ensure meticulous compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Punjab Health Department.

The development comes at a time when Punjab is witnessing a decline in COVID-19 cases in the state.
While the overall number of cases had declined in the state, 11 districts had shown an increase in positivity rate in the past four weeks, the Health Secretary said.
These are Rupnagar, Bathinda, SAS Nagar, Faridkot, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Mansa, Amritsar, Moga, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, and Sangrur. He further disclosed that currently, 1600 patients were in home isolation in the state.
