Punjab health officials to get luxury vehicles, tenders floated
Chandigarh, October 28: While Punjab is in the grip of a financial crisis and government employees are staging protests to get their monthly salaries, state officials are set to receive luxury vehicles for travel. Tenders have been issued for the same.
This tender is for the purchase of 196 vehicles. The release of this tender will allow health department officers to travel in luxury vehicles.
For these luxury vehicles, the government treasury will have to pay at least 62 lakh rupees per month. There will be 170 vehicles distributed across 16 districts, with 26 remaining in Chandigarh.

According to the tender issued by the government, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar will get 20 luxury vehicles each, Amritsar-14, Bathinda-14, SBS Nagar-12, Tarn Taran-12, Ferozepur-10, Fazilka-12, Faridkot-6, Barnala-6, Muktsar-6 and Mansa will get five vehicles.
