Earlier in March, a Group Captain of the IAF was martyred as the MiG-21 Bison aircraft was crashed. The incident took place when the aircraft was taking off for a combat training mission. Group Captain A Gupta was killed in the accident. In January, a MiG-21 aircraft crashed near Suratgarh in Rajasthan. Fortunately, the pilot had ejected safely.
