Punjab Police AIG found Guilty in a bribery case; gets 3 years’ jail The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court found Punjab Police AIG guilty and sentenced him 3 years imprisonment. PS Sandhu 54, Assistant inspector general (AIG) of Punjab Police was held guilty in a graft case by the CBI court in Chandigarh. Sandhu was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 at a cafe in Sector 28 on July 13, 2011, following which he was suspended after a week. Sandhu was posted as the AIG at the Punjab Police headquarters at that time. He was taking money from the complainant, Nishant Sharma, to favour him in an inquiry pending against him. -PTC NEWS-
