Punjab records highest number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in a day

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 26,909 after a record of 1020 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in 24 hours, as of Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, the death toll in the state has increased to 675 after 39 deaths were reported in the state. A total of 422 COVID patients in the state were cured and discharged that include 190 from Ludhiana, Amritsar-17, Sangrur-24, SAS Nagar-19, Hoshiarpur-2, Gurdaspur-28, Pathankot-12, Bathinda-57, FG Sahib7, Moga-10, Fazilka-10, Kapurthala-43, and Barnala-3. Among new deaths, Amritsar reported 3, Barnala 1, Bathinda 1, Fatehgarh Sahib 1, Gurdaspur 2, Hoshiarpur 6, Jalandhar 3, Ludhiana 13, SAS Nagar 2, Pathankot 2, Patiala 4, and Sangrur 1. Likewise, 229 new cases were reported from Ludhiana, 130 from Jalandhar, 85 from Amritsar, 70 from Patiala, 22 from Sangrur, 104 from Mohali, 23 from Hoshiarpur, 39 from Gurdaspur, 29 from Ferozepur, 27 from Pathankot, 9 from Tarn Taran, 22 from Bathinda, 18 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 19 from Moga, 13 from SBS Nagar, 36 from Faridkot, 13 from Fazilka, 34 from Kapurthala, 24 from Ropar, 9 from Muktsar, 62 from Barnala and 3 from Mansa.
