Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 25,889; death toll 636; recovered 16790

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 25,889 after record 1002 cases of coronavirus were reported from the state on Tuesday. According to the media bulletin issued on Tuesday evening, the death toll in Punjab due to the contagion disease has increased to 636 after 32 new deaths were reported from the state. Among the new deaths, 4 were from Sangrur, 3 each from Patiala, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Mohali, 11 from Ludhiana, and one each from Tarn Taran, Muktsar, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur, and Bathinda. Among the new cases, Ludhiana reported the highest number of coronavirus cases 252 while Amritsar and Patiala reported 118 cases each. Mohali reported 83 cases of COVID-19 while Hoshiarpur reported 77 cases and Jalandhar reported 54 cases. As per Punjab's health bulletin, Ludhiana is on top of the tally with 5,701 cases out of which 1831 are active cases and 3681 have been recovered while 189 deaths have been reported from the state so far.
