Punjab Sports Minister wishes good luck to pace bowler Arshdeep Singh for World Cup

Chandigarh, September 15: Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Thursday personally congratulated young pace bowler Arshdeep Singh for getting selected into the National team for T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup will be held in Australia in October this year. Extending his Best Wishes to the cricketer, the Punjab Minister expressed hope that Arshdeep would bring glory to the country and the state with his performance. Meet Hayer also met the youngster at the cricket ground of Sector 24 and appreciated him for carving out a niche for himself in so short a time at the International level. He termed Arshdeep as a role model for today's youth who secured a place in the National team by performing well in domestic cricket and IPL thereby becoming an important player in the death overs in his just 11 overs career. Earlier, Meet Hayer himself practised batting at the Sector 16 academy. Among others present on the occasion included Director Sports Rajesh Dhiman, Academy Coach Jaswant Rai, Sanjay Dahiya and Ashwani Garg.
