Punjab to remain closed on Sunday; here's what will be opened & closed
Shops Closed in Punjab: As per the new coronavirus restrictions announced by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on April 19, Punjab will remain closed on Sunday.
Thus, all shops, malls, restaurants, hotels, and other non-essential outlets in Punjab would remain closed completely on Sunday.

However, the milk vendors would be allowed to supply milk door to door. Meanwhile, only chemists, hospitals or business houses dealing in oxygen production and industries would be allowed to operate along with the other industries for continuing their operations.

Likewise, traffic on national and state highways would also be permitted.
It is pertinent to mention that the gatherings of more than 20 persons, including for weddings/cremations, had already been banned across the state, with prior approval of the district administration needed for all gatherings of more than 10 persons, except for cremation.
Similarly, people have been urged to avoid unnecessary socializing and stay indoors as much they can to contain the pandemic more effectively.
Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the procurement of wheat in mandis would also continue on Sunday.
These restrictions had been imposed by the state government to contain the spread of coronavirus in Punjab. Captain Amarinder Singh had announced that the new restrictions, including the closure of all malls, shops, and markets on Sunday, coupled with the ones imposed earlier, will remain in effect till April 30.
Also, the weekly markets were ordered to be shut down.
