To reach a larger section of the audience, actor Diljit Dosanjh says he is trying to dub his upcoming Punjabi film “Rangroot” in Hindi and English. The Punjabi Film ‘Rangroot’ is based on the First World War.
The movie is set amid the British govern in India and is a fictionalized variant of the time when Indian troopers were sent off to battle Germans amid World War I.
“We are trying to dub it in both Hindi and English. The trailer response was very good… I wanted to do a film like this since the past three-four years. But the budget was too high. A film is not made in such a budget according to Punjabi films,” Diljit told reports over phone from Mumbai.
Diljit Dosanjh, 34 says a big budget is not considered “safe” for the film.
“It is not that safe but thankful to our producers that they made a film for me. If this goes well, then we would make more such films,” he added.
Diljit Dosanjh, equipped with magic in his aura and screen presence, has been successful in taking his audience through time travel. After doing justice to ‘Punjab 1984’ and ‘Phillauri’, he is all set to add his upcoming flick “Sajjan Singh Rangroot” to his name.
Diljit will next be seen in “Welcome To New York”, a comedy film, directed by Chakri Toleti.
