While heavy fines imposed for violating traffic rules is evoking public anger in parts of the country, Rachakonda police in Greater Hyderabad is trying an innovative method to make the bike riders follow the rules. The Hyderabad Traffic Police is facilitating the violators to buy the helmet or obtaining necessary documents instead of imposing fines, in an order to repeat the violations of rule next time. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) Divya Charan Rao has launched the innovative initiative on Saturday. As per the innovative ride, those without the helmet were facilitated with the helmet on the spot while those who were not having documents like pollution, insurance were assister to get the same from the concerned authorities on the spot. The traffic police booked the slots online with the Road Transport Authority (RTA) to obtain the license for the violators who were caught driving without helmet. New Traffic Rules: "Kindly Keep My Scooty, I can't Afford Challan" This innovative drive has won the appreciation from the people, who are heavily praised by the Netizens, saying the heavy penalties are not the only solution to deal with the violations. Likewise, Telangana Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao patted the Rachakonda Police for the innovative drive. Rachakonda is one of the three police commissionerates in Greater Hyderabad. -PTC News-
