Rafale case: Supreme Court to pronounce judgment in review petitions tomorrow

The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict on Rafale review petitions on its judgment upholding the procurement of 36 Rafale jets on Thursday. The Apex court pronounced its verdict on December 14, 2018. Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi with Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph will deliver the judgment. The review petitions have been filed against the court’s judgment pronounced last year, in which petitions calling for an investigation into the Rafale deal were dismissed. https://www.ptcnews.tv/supreme-court-to-pronounce-its-verdict-on-sabarimala-temple-tomorrow/ In May, the Supreme Court reserved a decision on pleas, including one filed by former Union ministers Yashwant Sinha, Arun Shourie and activist-lawyer Prashant Bhushan. They sought re-examination of the court’s position that there was no doubt over the decision-making process in the procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets. Meanwhile, the three review petitions were filed by lawyer Vineet Dhandha and Aam Aadmi Party lawmaker Sanjay Singh. Indian Air Force (IAF) chief, Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria stated that the first Rafale fighter jets would fly in the Indian airspace by the end of May 2020. He also said that India would receive the first four of the 36 Rafale fighter jets by May 2020. -PTC News
