Rahul Gandhi slams Central Vista project amid COVID-19 pandemic
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed the Central government for going ahead with the construction of the Central Vista project while the entire country was reeling under the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Even as Rahul Gandhi suggested a couple of different options for the government to spend the Central Vista project's money on.

He opined that Rs 13,450 crore, proposed for the project, can be used for vaccinating 45 crore Indians or procuring one crore oxygen cylinders or provide Rs 6,000 to two crore families under the NYAY scheme.

He took to Twitter and wrote: "₹13450 crores for Central Vista. Or, for fully vaccinating 45 crore Indians. Or, for 1 crore oxygen cylinders. Or, to give 2 crore families NYAY of ₹6000. But, PM’s ego is bigger than people’s lives."
In another tweet, he wrote: "I just want to make it clear that a lockdown is now the only option because of a complete lack of strategy by GOI. They allowed, rather, they actively helped the virus reach this stage where there’s no other way to stop it. A crime has been committed against India."
"GOI doesn’t get it. The only way to stop the spread of Corona now is a full lockdown- with the protection of NYAY for the vulnerable sections. GOI’s inaction is killing many innocent people," he wrote in another tweet.
