A 30-year-old railway attendant has been sentenced to 10 days of simple imprisonment for supplying water from lavatory of AC coach to the passengers of Tirunelveli-Jamnagar Express. As per report the railway attendant of AC coach has been handed over the penalty of Rs 1,500. Meanwhile, the Railway Police Force (RPF) has started an investigation to prevent impure water supply in the trains. The attendant has been identified as Ravindra Vyas who hails from Rajkot. He has been serving as a contract worker. A case has been registered against him for illegal sale of an article under the section 144(1) of the Indian Railway's Act. As per report, the spokesman of Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL), Girish Karandikar, said that the central traffic control room told RPF authorities of Ratnagiri about the illegal sale of drinking water on the Tirunelveli-Jamnagar Express with the number 19577. Afterwards, B3, a three-tier AC coach, was inspected at Ratnagiri railway station. He sold unsealed packaged drinking water bottles to the passengers. Meanwhile, one of the passengers got suspicious about the unsealed water bottles. The passenger then asked the authorities and registered a complaint regarding the matter, following which Ravindra Vyas was arrested. -PTC News
