Rain brings respite from heat in Tricity; Here's the prediction for next few days

Heavy rain lashed out Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula on Friday bringing respite from the extreme heatwave which has been rising for the past few days. The heavy rainfall occurred in the Tricity including Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, and the nearby areas. The intensified rainfall left several trees broken. The rain also caused waterlogging at several roundabouts and roads in the Tricity leading to traffic jams. However, the temperature in the Tricity still remains at 35 degrees celsius. As per the report, the maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or more is expected over Punjab and Haryana on Friday. Meanwhile, there is no rain predicted for the next few days. The Indian Meteorological Department has recently predicted an early arrival of monsoon in Delhi, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. According to the Skymet forecaster, the monsoon can arrive over Delhi by June 25-26 while the pre-monsoon rains will start pouring in from June 20. Also Read | IMD predicts heatwave in Punjab in next two to three days Earlier on Thursday, the temperature at some parts in the region crossed 42 degrees Celsius along with the high humidity that created difficulties for people, especially those moving out of their homes. On Thursday, Several cities of Punjab including Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded 41.4 degrees, 41.6 degrees and 41.3 degrees Celsius, respectively.
