Rajasthan: Bus carrying ‘baraatis’ falls into river, 24 dead

Rajasthan Bundi Bus Accident: At least 24 people including 10 women and 3 children died while five others were injured after a bus full of passengers fell into the Mej river in Rajasthan’s Bundi district. According to the information, the bus was carrying baraatis. The incident took place at around 10 am near Lakheri town of Bundi district. Meanwhile, it has been reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle. As per the report, 13 people died on the spot and 11 people succumbed to their injuries while they were on way to a hospital. Bundi District Magistrate Antar Singh Nehra was quoted by ANI as saying that: "This is an unfortunate incident. 24 people have lost their lives. Compensation of Rs 2 lakhs will be given to families of victims from the Chief Minister's relief fund." After receiving the information, the senior cops of the Bundi district rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, the identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to twitter and wrote: "I am deeply saddened to learn about the tragic accident in Bundi in which 24 people have lost lives after the bus fell into river Mej.. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their loves ones in this tragedy.
