Rajnath Singh boasts of 'strengthened' military ties between India, US
New Delhi, April 14: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday boasted of the "strengthened" military connection between India and the United States on Twitter. "Visited various training sites of @USARPAC located around the island of Oahu. The Military to Military relationship between India and the United States has been strengthened in recent years," said Singh, who recently visited several training sites of the U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), located on the Oahu Island. Earlie, Rajnath Singh paid a visit to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command situated in Hawaii, where he was honourably greeted by the USINDOPACOM Commander, Admiral John Aquilino. They discussed enhancing and empowering the military union between India and the US and agreed in working cooperatively for the betterment of both countries. USINDOPACOM is the United States Armed Forces' unified combatant command in charge of the critical Indo-Pacific region. The USINDOPACOM and Indian military are involved in a variety of military exercises, training events, and exchanges.

"The commitment to working together for a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific and beyond was reaffirmed," it added. Meanwhile, Singh on Wednesday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi's statue and also laid a wreath at the National Memorial Cemetery in Honolulu, Hawaii. Singh tweeted: "Paid tributes to Pujya Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) at his statue in Honolulu, Hawaii." the Defence minister also laid a wreath at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii.
