Ravidas temple demolition: Ravidas Community to hold protest at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi

Ravidas temple demolition: Ravidas Community is all set to hold a protest at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, on Wednesday following the demolition of Sri Guru Ravidas Temple. The protest has been called out following the Bandh that took place in Punjab, a few days back. The protest has been called following the demolition of the 500-year-old Ravidas Temple which is located in Tuglakabad, Delhi. As per reports, the temple is said to be dedicated to the Sri Guru Ravidas in the late 15th century. The Ravidas community is outraged over the demolition of Sri Guru Ravidas temple in Tughlakabad which was built in the late 15th century, when the then Sultan of Delhi, Sikandar Lodi, dedicated the land for the Ravidas temple. The protest in Punjab led to the closure of the state, with highways being blocked and the schools, colleges, Government offices being closed.
