February 7, 2022 : Legendary Lata Mangeshkar, who breathed her last at a Mumbai hospital on Sunday morning, was one of the melodious voices of the country. Her musical journey was an inspiration to many. The 'Nightingale of India' ruled millions of hearts irrespective of their ages and people even worshipped her as their idol. One such admirer was 2019's sensational singer Ranu Mondal, who was spotted at a railway station by a young engineer singing Lata Mangeshkar's iconic song. Ranu was singing the 1972 song 'Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai' at the Ranaghat Railway Station in West Bengal when a person shot her video. The video went viral on the internet in just two days, making her an overnight sensation and Ranu Mondal was trending on every social media platform. Ranu, following her appearance on the reality show, became a star and got the chance of working in Himesh Reshammiya film. She worked in Himesh Reshammiya’s 'Happy Hardy' and 'Heer' and gave voice to songs like 'Teri Meri Kahani', 'Aashiqui Mein Teri 2.0' and 'Aadat'. The queen of a melodious voice, Lata Mangeshkar, passed away on Sunday after weeks of hospitalisation. She was cremated with full state honours at Mumbai's iconic Shivaji Park on the day.
