A Delhi Court on Saturday granted bail to actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu, an accused in the Republic Day violence case.
Deep Sidhu, during the last hearing, had stated that he had not given any call to agitating farmers to go to Red Fort on January 26.

He had also said that the call for protest was given by the farmer leaders and that he was not a member of any farmer union.
Meanwhile, his lawyer had also submitted in Delhi court that there was no evidence that Sidhu mobilised the crowd. Also, the actor had submitted that he had not indulged in a single act of violence.

Sidhu had also said that he had made a mistake by posting a video on Facebook and stated that it was not a crime.
Through his lawyer, Deep Sidhu had said that he had just posted a video and that was the only mistake. However, every mistake is not a crime, he said, adding that the media has named him the main accused just because he posted a video.
"Media levelled me as the chief conspirator, I don’t know why?” Deep Sidhu had said through his lawyer during his bail plea hearing on April 8 in the Republic Day violence case.
