Request Owaisi to accept Z-category security, says Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, February 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday urged AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to reconsider his decision not to accept the Z-category security cover being provided to him by the government. Making a statement in the Rajya Sabha on firing on the vehicle of AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Amit Shah said two unidentified people had fired on the carcade. He came out safe, but there were three bullet marks on lower portion of his vehicle. The incident was witnessed by three witnesses. An FIR has been registered. I request him to reconsider his decision and accept the security cover provided to him and make us anxiety free,” he added. [caption id="attachment_584410" align="aligncenter" width="750"] Amit Shah[/caption] "Owaisi had no prescheduled event in Hapur district, no information about his movement was sent to the District Control Room beforehand. After the incident, he reached Delhi safely," said Amit Shah. Soon after the attack on the AIMIM chief at Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had sought a report from the state government, Shah added. He said taking quick action, two accused were arrested, two unauthorised pistols and an Alto car were recovered from them. "A forensic team is doing a minute investigation of the car and the incident site, evidence being collected," he added. But due to his unwillingness to avail security, the Delhi and  Telangana Police's efforts to provide him security didn't succeed. But, as per verbal info by himself, he has refused to accept it. I request him to accept the security given to him by the Central Government,"  Union Home Minister Amit Shah added.
