According to sources, VIP treatment is being given to the accused and also police is not strict with Sunny. The family of the victim said that if they don’t get justice, they will protest in front of CM's house in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Sources told that continuous pressure is maintained by the police of the victim’s family. The family of the victim along with 300 other people went to Patiala for gherao in front of Chief Minister's residence in Patiala last night. And, Patiala’s SDM and SP has ensured that their request will be conveyed to the Chief Minister. The victim's family said that if they don’t get justice, then they would protest in front of Chandigarh Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. Two days after a 22-year-old youth Jagdeep Singh Rinkle was beaten to death, Congress councillor Gurdip Singh Nitu’s son Jatinder Singh Sunny has been arrested. The councillor has also been named in the FIR along with nine others. The family has not cremated the victim’s body. They have also given a warning the police that if they the action was not taken within 24 hours they would sit on a dharna in front of the chief minister’s office with the victim’s dead body. Sunny had earlier also made attempts on his life on February 24 and then again on March 7. According to Rinkle’s family members, he had complained to the police each time he was attacked by Sunny, but the police did not take any action. Gurwinder Singh, SHO, Division No.2 police station has been suspended. Rinkle had succumbed to injuries at a private hospital on Thursday night after Sunny and nine of his accomplices entered his house and thrashed him with iron rods in Amarpura. Rinkle was alone at home when Sunny and his friends entered the house. Rinkle and his mother were away to the market and neighbours informed them over the phone that about 8-10 people had entered his house and were beating Rinkle. A rivalry between Rinkle and Sunny can be traced back to 2017 Punjab Assembly elections when Rinkle worked for the BJP candidate. -PTC NEWS-
