While the prominent personalities from across various fields are coming ahead to contribute in an order to combat coronavirus, Indian opener Rohit Sharma, also known as Hitman, has donated a huge amount of Rs 80 lakhs to various relief funds. Taking to Twitter, Rohit Sharma wrote: "We need our country back on feet and the onus is on us. I’ve done my bit to donate 45 lakhs to PM-CARES Fund, 25 lakhs to CM Relief Fund Maharashtra, 5 lakhs to Feeding India and 5 lakhs to Welfare Of Stray Dogs. Earlier on Monday, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli along with wife Anushka Sharma made his contribution. Virat Kohli took to Twitter and wrote: "Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps to ease the pain of our fellow citizens." Coronavirus Mandi board and market committees Employees , Punjab CM relief fund Gautam Gambhir also donated one crore. He said in a tweet, "It is time that all resources of the country be directed towards fighting COVID-19. Have released INR 1 Crore from my MP LAD fund towards relief efforts. Have also donated one month’s salary towards the Central Relief Fund. United we stand!!"
