Rohtak Court slaps life imprisonment to Youth for compelling a minor girl for marriage
A Rohtak court on Thursday sentenced a youth to undergo life imprisonment for abducting a minor SC girl and compelling her for marriage. He has been sentenced for intimidating and also defaming her on social media.

Additional Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge Rajinder Pal Goyal has pronounced the verdict to the convict, Rahul. The court sentenced convict under Section 3 (2) (v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

The court has also sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 5 years under Section 366 for kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her for marriage in addition to life imprisonment.

Minor SC girl’s mother lodged a complaint against Rahul. She wrote in her complaint that the convict had been following her daughter. Acting on this complaint, police arrested the convict and court pronounced a quantum of punishment on Thursday.
