Around seven masked men, armed with pistols, intercepted a cash van on the Adampur-Bhogpur road around 3 pm today and looted Rs 1.15 crore. The robbers chased it in an Indigo car, without a registered number plate, and on three Pulsar motorcycles. The guards of the van had a double-barrelled gun, but they offered no resistance to the robbers. After taking away the cash, the accused dispersed. The police nabbed one of the robbers at Cheema village in Kartarpur. Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, Balkar Singh said, “The unidentified robber, who got shot in the leg, has been admitted to a private hospital here. The Indigo has been impounded. Its number plate was found inside. No money has been recovered so far. We will trace the other robbers soon.” -PTC News
