The deceased identified as Rani was a resident of Punjab’s Kharar. She worked as a housekeeping worker and was involved in a love affair with a man named Vishal.

The disturbing incident unfolded at a park near Chandigarh Sector 35 petrol pump. The incident took place when Rani expressed her desire to marry Vishal, however, Vishal declined the proposal, which prompted Rani to take this step.

The incident stirred tension, chaos and panic in the Chandigarh Sector 35 area. Rani succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at PGIMER for severe injuries sustained from the self-killing attempt.

As per the sources, Rani and Vishal had been in a love affair for six years and the refusal of marriage from Vishal seemingly led to a tragic turn of events.

In response to the incident, an investigation has been initiated by the authorities, with a case registered by the police. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine any further actions that need to be taken.

Balraj Gill, a close associate of alleged mastermind Abhijeet Singh, was arrested at the West Bengal airport by the Gurugram Crime Branch. Subsequent interrogations have revealed Gill's admission to disposing of Divya Pahuja's body in the Patiala Canal. Gill had been on the run since the crime occurred.

Gill, along with another prime suspect Ravi Banga, had initially escaped the crime scene. The duo abandoned the BMW used in the crime at a parkign lot at the Patiala bus stand and received Rs 10 lakh to find a secure hideout. Balraj Gill's confession provides crucial insights into the sequence of events surrounding the Divya Pahuja murder case.

The Gurugram Crime Branch has arrested five persons in connection with the murder — mastermind Abhijeet Singh, Hemraj, Om Prakash, Megha, and Balraj Gill. The manhunt for Ravi Banga is currently underway.

Information obtained from telephonic conversations has played a pivotal role in understanding the nuances of the crime. The Anti-Crime Branch has shared details of these conversations, highlighting their significance in unraveling the involvement of the suspects.

Balraj Gill's confession marks a significant breakthrough in the Divya Pahuja murder case, providing investigators with crucial information. 

Notably, the CCTV footage recovered from a Gurugram hotel helped the authorities reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the tragic death of former model Divya Pahuja. The footage captured Divya Pahuja at the hotel's reception early in the morning with Abhijeet Singh, the hotel owner, and main suspect.

Divya Pahuja was purportedly the girlfriend of Sandeep Gadoli, a notorious gangster killed by the Haryana Police in a Mumbai hotel. The encounter was later deemed questionable, resulting in the arrest of several police officials. Divya Pahuja and her mother were also detained for supposedly disclosing the gangster's whereabouts, leading to the so-called "fake encounter."

She remained in jail from 2016 until she was granted bail by the Bombay High Court in June last year.

Less than 20 hours later, footage shows two men dragging her body down a corridor, which was the last sighting of her. The police have tracked Abhijeet Singh's car, used to transport the body towards Punjab, and located it in Patiala. However, the search for Divya Pahuja's body is ongoing.

Notably, Divya Pahuja was in jail for seven years due to her alleged involvement in the staged killing of her former boyfriend, Gurugram gangster Sandeep Gadoli, in 2016. She was granted bail in June last year. Initial footage from Hotel City Point shows Abhijeet Singh, Divya Pahuja and another individual entering the premises. Subsequently, Abhijeet Singh and Divya Pahuja move deeper into the hotel while the third person engages with the receptionist before following them.

Another video, timestamped around 10.45 pm, shows two men dragging Divya Pahuja's body wrapped in a blanket through the hotel corridor. One of the men later returns alone. As per the police, the body was taken to Abhijeet Singh's blue BMW and disposed of.

There are allegations suggesting Divya Pahuja possessed incriminating videos of Abhijeet Singh, which he demanded she delete. Her refusal allegedly led to Abhijeet Singh and his accomplices allegedly shooting her. However, the former model's family strongly refutes these claims.

Abhijeet Singh and two of his purported accomplices, Omprakash and Hemraj, have been arrested. The police, however, continue its search for two or three other persons allegedly paid by Abhijeet Singh to dispose of Divya Pahuja's body.

Sandeep Gadol was killed by Haryana Police

The preliminary suspicion suggests that the woman suffered fatal injuries inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon, prompting the authorities to suspect her husband, currently evading arrest, as a potential suspect.

Upon responding to the distress call, the police found the residence locked. After gaining forced entry, they found the woman dead and lying in a pool of blood. The child was inconsolable.

Identified as Laxmi Rawat from Agra, the victim had been residing with her husband, Gaurav Sharma, in their current residence for approximately six months. Investigators speculate that the alleged homicide transpired a day prior to its discovery.

Vikas Kaushik, a senior police official involved in the ongoing investigation, said, "We are meticulously examining all conceivable leads in this case and actively pursuing the whereabouts of the husband, currently absconding. Further insights into the motive behind this appalling incident are anticipated to surface in due course."

India witnessed a series of murders that reverberated through the collective conscience of the nation, sending shockwaves that transcended regional boundaries in 2023. Each of these crimes, marked by its own chilling details, unfolded as tragic narratives that not only claimed lives but also exposed the grim underbelly of human nature. 

Nikki Yadav Murder Case

The gruesome and spine-chilling murder incident sent shockwaves across Nation wherein a 23-year-year old Haryana girl Nikki Yadav was allegedly killed by her 24-year-old boyfriend Sahil Gehlot with a charging cable and stuffed her body inside a refrigerator in his family’s dhaba in Mitraon village, located in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh after the two had a very heated argument.

The horrific and fatal crime unfolded on February 9, 2023 in the Kashmiri Gate area, Delhi.
Nikki Yadav was a native of Jhajjar in Haryana and was pursuing her post-graduation in English from Greater Noida’s Galgotia College and lived with her younger sister in Delhi’s Bindapur. 

Shraddha Walkar Murder Case 

The gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar has sent shockwaves through the entire world, and is considered one of the most gruesome and horrifying cases of 2023.

Shraddha Walkar was a 27-year-old Indian woman who was murdered by her 28-year-old boyfriend and live-in partner Aaftab Amin Poonawala in Delhi on 18 May 2022.The 28-year-old, dismembered Shraddha's body and stored the chopped body parts in a refrigerator before disposing of them in the forests of south Delhi's Chhatarpur, is currently in Judicial custody.

28-year-old Aaftab Poonawala strangled his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar over an argument and then proceeded to dismember her body into 35 pieces, allegedly to have preserved the chopped body parts in a refrigerator before dumping them in forested areas in Delhi and Gurugram.
Poonawala was arrested by the Delhi Police on 12 November 2022. 

                    
Kanjhawala hit-and-drag case

In the early months of 2023, a crime of passion unfolded, shaking a close-knit community, in which  20-year-old Anjali Singh, who was riding a scooter, was found dead on the street after being allegedly hit and dragged for several kilometres by a car driven by five youths in Outer Delhi's Kanjhawala area on January 1, 2023. 

The fatal incident unfolded when Anjali was riding scooter in Delhi's Sultanpuri area and Suzuki Baleno car collided with them. The five occupants of the car, admitting to being intoxicated, fled the scene, dragging Anjali's body for several kilometers.The autopsy revealed the cause of Anjali's death as "shock and hemorrhage due to injury to the head, spine, left femur, and both lower limbs," with 40 recorded injuries on her body.

The aftermath of this murder sent shockwaves through the community. 

Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed Murder

 
Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot by three men near a medical college in Prayagraj April 15.

Ahmad was named in more than 100 criminal cases, including the Umesh Pal murder case. In 2006, Ahmad and his aides abducted Umesh Pal and forced him to give a statement in court in their favour. The Supreme Court had in April 2019 directed that Ahmad be shifted to a high-security jail in Gujarat after he was accused of orchestrating the kidnapping and assault of Lucknow-based real-estate businessman Mohit Jaiswal while in jail.

Shahbad Dairy Murder

In yet another horrifying and dreadful murder case, Indian teenage girl Sakshi Reddy was allegedly killed after being stabbed multiple times and her head being crushed with a boulder by a 20-year-old man named Sahil in New Delhi's Shahbad Dairy area on May 28, 2023. 

Sakshi, who was in a relationship with Sahil for over three years, wanted to break up with him and the two had a quarrel on the matter on 27 May 2023. Their breakup reportedly enraged Sahil, who then decided to kill Sakshi.

A CCTV footage which went viral depicted Sahil purportedly stabbing the girl multiple times with a knife. He continued to stab her even when she slumped to the ground. He kicked her and then took a concrete slab lying nearby and bludgeoned her head. 

These incidents stand as a testament to the challenges faced by our society in ensuring safety and justice for its citizens. 

Chennai, December 25: Just a day before her birthday, a 24-year-old software engineer from Tamil Nadu was allegedly burnt alive before beng chained and cut by her former classmate who had undergone gender transition in order to marry her, said the police. 

The incident came to light in Thalambur near Kelambakkam, a southern suburb of Chennai. According to the police Vetrimaran (26), alias Pandiya Maheswari, blindfolded R Nandhini (24) in order to give her a surprise on her birthday, but later allegedly subjected her to an unimaginable ordeal.

The victim belonged to Madurai and was a software engineer. She had been residing with relatives in Chennai. Vetrimaran had changed his name from Pandiya Maheswari and lured Nandhini into his deadly trap on the pretext of celebrating her birthday.

 
As per information, both studied together in Madurai. However, Nandhini continued the friendship even after Vetrimaran underwent gender transition procedure. They also worked at a same private IT firm in Thoraipakkam. 

The police suspeced that Vetrimaran  took the extreme step as he had suspicion that Nandhini had developed an interest in others.

Further investigations are underway.
