The mob pelted stones. Meanwhile, several Sikh devotees were stranded inside the shrine as the mob threatened to bring the shrine to the ground. https://twitter.com/Reddevilfan99/status/1213396998906212352 The mob led by Mohammad Hassan - who was one of the of main players in the controversy of abducting and converting a Sikh girl named Jagjit Kaur - was trying to destroy the whole complex. Hassan's videos were surfaced on Internet in which he was threatening the people to turn the Gurdwara Nankana Sahib into a mosque. https://twitter.com/mssirsa/status/1213142034573250562 Also, the mob was raising anti-Sikh slogans, asking all the Sikh devotees to leave Kartapur. While sharing Hassan's video, DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa condemned his move and urged Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to take an action. He wrote: "Hear the video and feel the kind of terror minorities live with in Pakistan. Mohammad Hassan openly threatens to destroy Nankana Sahib Gurdwara and build the mosque in that place Imran Khan is urged to take action against communal trend of hatred." https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1213113371542732801 Soon after the issue was raised, the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India released a statement and expressed its concern about the same. While sharing the release, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar wrote: "India strongly condemns vandalism at the holy Nankana Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan and calls upon Pakistan to take immediate steps to ensure the safety, security and well being of the Sikh community." Likewise, MEA was quoted by ANI as saying, "We are concerned at the vandalism carried out at the revered Nankana Sahib Gurdwara (in Pakistan). Members of the minority Sikh community have been subjected to acts of violence in the holy city of Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji." Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal took to twitter and wrote: "Mob attack on Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, birth place of Guru Nanak Dev ji, is a despicable act and I urge PM Narendra Modi ji to take it up with Pak PM Imran Khan. We have to ensure the safety of Sikhs in Pakistan and I trust that the govt will address the issue on priority." In a series of tweets, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal condemned the attack. She wrote, "Persecution of minorities in Pak is a reality. Today’s attack on Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib has shown its horrible face. I want to ask Capt Amarinder Singh and Congress how they can oppose PM Narendra Modi’s noble humanitarian gesture of giving rights to such persecuted minorities!" In another tweet, Harsimrat Kaur Badal wrote, "True face of Pak stands exposed! First Sikh minor girl kidnapped & forcibly married. Now kidnappers attacking victim family & holy shrine Gurdwara #NankanaSahib. I urge PM Narendra Modi ji and Dr S Jaishankar to ensure Pak stops this barbarity & ensure safety of Pak Sikh community." Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh also condemned the attack and said, "I appeal to Imran Khan to immediately intervene to ensure that the devotees stranded in Gurdwara Nankana Sahib are rescued and the historic Gurdwara is saved from the angry mob surrounding it." https://twitter.com/WaqasGujjar229/status/1213181661422260224 In a video which surfaced on Internet on January 4, Mohammad Hassan was thanking the people and was heard saying that the matter has been resolved and all his relatives had returned safely. However, Azhar Mashwani, the Focal Person (Digital Media) to Punjab Chief Minister took to twitter and said: “The main culprit in Nankana Sahib incident Imran Chisti has been arrested FIR # 6/2020 u/s 295A/290/291/341/506/148/ 149, 6 sound system /7ATA has been registered at Nankana Police Station.” The tweet also carried the picture of the accused behind the bars. Imran Chisti is the elder brother of Mohammad Hassan who forcibly married a teenage Sikh girl in September last year after allegedly abducting and converting her to Islam. Amid tensed situation in Pakistan, a 25-year-old Sikh man was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the northwestern city of Peshawar in Pakistan, a day after a mob attacked Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. https://twitter.com/HarsimratBadal_/status/1213149009746911238 To this, Harsimrat Kaur Badal questioned Punjab CM and wrote: "Capt Amarinder Singh, another Sikh has been killed just because his brother, the first Sikh news anchor in Pakistan, raised his voice against persecution of minorities there. How many more Sikhs need to die before you and your Congress stop this double speak?" https://twitter.com/officeofssbadal/status/1214116806765363202 Afterwards, SAD delegation led by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal met External Affairs minister Dr S Jaishankar on January 6 and urged him to seek categorical assurance from Pak PM Imran Khan about protection of assets and lives of minorities and arrest of all those involved in hate attack on Sikhs and stoning of Gurdwara Nankana Sahib." Also, the SAD delegation urged Dr S Jaishankar to raise the issue in UN to expose Pakistan's treatment of minorities before the world. From a total of 40,000 in 2002 census Sikh population has now come down to 5,000. This itself is a proof of forced conversions." Meanwhile, Sukhbir Singh Badal said, "We briefed External Affairs Minister that the situation is so bad in Pakistan that now even those looking after Gurdwaras are not safe any longer. If anybody can attack and stone Gurdwara Janam Asthan then no minority is safe in Pakistan. The international community must intervene." Likewise, Harsimrat Kaur Badal also urged External Affairs Minister to summon Pak high commissioner and stress arrest of those responsible for attack on Sikhs and stoning of Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. Such action would have averted murder of Peshawar Sikh youth. Pak must ensure safety of Sikhs with pro-active steps." -PTC News- ]]>Rajan NathWed, 08 Jan 2020 18:08:32 +053018552721855272<![CDATA[GOOD SENSE Vs GODMEN ]]>https://www.ptcnews.tv/good-sense-vs-godmen Life will limp back to normal in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi today. The Dera Chief is finally confined to make his "Dera" behind bars. The Corporates will start boldly driving their cars to their offices. The hawkers will look to earn their daily bread. News channels will start blaring from top all the sinister doings of the BALAATKARI BABA. Ironically, these same channels were busy bowing down at the doors of the Dera for the ads and promos of MSG products and films. Same channels were dying to have the Baba visit their studios and give them oh-so-exclusive bytes to boost their TRPs. Politicians will heave a sigh of relief - they don't have to bow down in front of someone having more sway over votes than them. There is such a huge sense of relief and sense of accomplishment all over as if the Baba was the main villain and the Society as a whole has achieved collective victory!! But, is Baba the real culprit? Or are all of us? We, who constantly seek blessings of God and godmen to live our lives. We, who are blinded with misplaced faith. When will we learn to have faith in ourselves, in other people? When will we believe that God is not up there and away and hidden? When will we believe that these godmen are just businessmen, nay conmen? When will we learn that all the education we receive from big colleges and universities is of no use until we keep believing what our parents mis-educated us all our lives - that we need some God or godmen to guide us in life. Why is it so difficult for us to do the right thing on our own? Why is it so difficult for us to understand that so-called GOD is not outside of us. They said God is "O" and that's perhaps why we took out the "O" from GOOD and imagined something devoid of doing GOOD to be the GOD while still believing we are doing GOOD. The INSAA has become HINSAA. Wake up before it is too late. Wake up before godmen kill every inch of GOOD SENSE from us and lead us inside a dark cave of nothingness. Get real EDUCATION and WISDOM and teach others the path of righteousness. Otherwise we will be condemned to the world described by Charan Das Sidhu: DUNIYA DEKH TU APNI RABBA, DUKH SATAYI BHUKH SATAYI. THURH DA BINIYA HAR KOI BANDA. IK DUJE DI KHON KAMAYI. (Look at your World, O Lord. It suffers from pain and hunger. Each person is entangled in scarcity....Robbing each other of their earnings). Why? Has Punjab got anything since Independence? ]]>https://www.ptcnews.tv/punjab-celebrate-independence-day-punjab-got-anything-since-independence-2 Another Prime Minister of India will hoist the Tricolor at Red Fort on August 15. Vande Matram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai chants will resonate through the air. But for every Punjabi who lived through 1947, this is the image that remains forever etched in their mind - the death and destruction of near and dear ones, refugee camps, hunger, sudden poverty and struggle to survive in a hostile world. (Got, it still remains the same for Punjabis). I wonder why we call partition of India- it was partition of Punjab!! Punjab and Punjabis suffered, nobody else did. Our art, our culture, our heritage, our people got partitioned. And, has Punjab got its due by "choosing" to be with India? It never did. As if the wounds of partition were not enough, Punjab got further divided with Pakistan and then with the new states( and the demand still continues). The forced SYL issue is still burning and threatening to explode any day. Punjab has been the seat of all ancient wisdom - the most ancient piece of literature RIGVEDA was created here and so were Ramayana, Mahabharat and many other such great living stories including the BHAGWAT GEETA, to which almost the whole nation is being made to swear by. But alas, the land of wisdom is reduced to being dubbed as the land of drug addiction and farmer suicides. The land which fed the nation, today, sees at least promises while the Centre has not even a promise to offer. A rare state which has no capital of its own. The state which got cheated right from 1947 till now. Can you name any central Government project to help the state after Bhakra dam? ( That too is controlled by the centre). When Punjabis demanded their rights, there were dubbed as terrorists and militants. Slowly but steadily the names and memories of those who fought for the so-called Indian nation like Kartar Singh Sarabha are being obliterated. Bhagat Singh is almost branded as a terrorist. They don't even find a mention in the nation's parliament when it pays tribute to the Quit India movement - without realising that the biggest protests under that movement happened in Punjab. The list of injustice done to Punjab is long and endless. But till today, Punjab has neither got justice nor its rightful Government - till date. This image of Red Fort refugee camp of displaced Punjabis, therefore, still haunts. Punjabis are increasingly taking refuge in other places and countries which recognise their spirit and passion. Countries like Canada have recognised the contribution of Punjabis. Road signs are in Gurmukhi in many parts of Canada. Their parliament unanimously apologised to Punjabis for Komagata Maru. Here, we still looking for justice for 1984!!. Baisakhi and Gurpurab are celebrated in Canadian Parliament every year. Many Punjabis now call Canada as their Homeland. Strangely, their own country is repeatedly choosing to keep Punjabis at bay and continues to deny Punjab its rights. But, The spirit of Punjabiyat survives. It has survived through Alexander, Nadir Shah, 1947, 1984 and it will survive.- ]]>PTC NEWSWed, 16 Aug 2017 01:31:07 +053017803911780391<![CDATA[ਅਲਵਿਦਾ!
