The proposals in the budget is to establish both fiscal consolidation and growth, especially inclusive growth. While addressing FM Sitharaman said that during her interaction with stakeholders outside the national capital since presenting the budget on February 1.

"Growth is the main focus. We want to sustain that recovery, sustain that growth," Sitharaman, said when she was accompanied by the top ministry officials at an event.

On the discussion on FY24 which was presented recently by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, she encouraged and gave credit for the growth of the people of the country. Since the onset of the pandemic government introduced many relief and policy measures, the people of the country absorbed that. The policy was introduced to make India the second-fastest growing economy.

Further, Finance Minister Sitharaman said it was the express desire of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to elevate public capital expenditure, due to which she has proposed a higher outlay of Rs 10 lakh crore under the head.

FM thanked the Union budget 2023-making team for making it possible to devote such a high quantum of resources for the task amid the myriad challenges like the need for fiscal consolidation. "Mumbai should be liking it (the proposals)," Sitharaman said.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam presented the budget for 2023, as excellent, president, Confederation of Kerala Tourism Industry, EM Najeeb, said that the budget would do a lot of positive things in the coming years.

"Overall, the budget is very good, and on behalf of the tourism industry, I'd like to welcome this budget," he said.

While referring to the tourism sector in the beginning of the budget session, he said that it is for the first time that the sector has been given such importance.

"Tourism has been mentioned in the beginning of the budget itself as one of the pillars for the growth engine for employment generation as well as increase in tourism activities in both domestic and international sectors," said Najeeb, also the senior vice-president, Indian Association of Tour Operators.

Jose Pradeep, secretary, Kerala Travel Mart Society, said while sharing similar views, that the budget holds immense promise for the growth of the tourism sector.

For the first time in the Union Budget 2023, government has decided to take tourism promotion on a mission mode with active participation of the state. The convergence of the programmes and the public-private partnerships would help tap the potential of the sector, he said.

"Investment of Rs 2.4 lakh crore in the railway sector, along with the development of 50 additional airports throughout the country, will greatly improve connectivity, making it easier for tourists to explore our country," he said.

There will be around 50 tourism destinations that will be selected and developed as a package for domestic and international tourism, he said while adding that this would help promote destinations as worldclass tourist attractions, and draw more visitors.

Managing director of LuLu Financial Holdings, Adeeb Ahamed, termed that the budget as a balanced one; with equal focus on traditional and emerging sectors, agreeing that, "the way forward is to build a technology and knowledge-based economy.

Adeeb, has investments in the financial services sector in the form of LuLu Forex and LuLu Finserv an NBFC providing micro loans, said that the move to ramp up the credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs which will give a fillip to enabling faster access to financial services. He also has investments in luxury hospitality sectors, travel, felt that the proposal to adopt an integrated and innovative approach to develop destinations augurs well.

But, the Confederation of All India Traders criticised the budget by saying it has ignored the small- and medium-scale traders who are the foundation of the economy.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Union Budget 2023 said that the states will be encouraged to set up physical libraries for them. This structure can be provided at panchayat and ward levels and provide infrastructure for accessing the National Digital Library resources. This will help in building a culture of reading and to make up for pandemic-time learning loss.

The sources like National Book Trust, Children's Book Trust and other medium will be encouraged to provide and replenish non-curricular titles in regional languages and English to these physical libraries.

"Collaboration with NGOs that work in literacy will also be a part of this initiative. To inculcate financial literacy, financial sector regulators and organizations will be encouraged to provide age-appropriate reading material to these libraries," Sitharaman said.

Stakeholders of the education sector has welcomed this proposal Union Budget 2023. HLM Group of Institutions spokesperson, Tanvi Miglani, is setting up a National Digital Library, it is a great policy measure to make learning resources available in various subjects for children and adolescents on a consolidated digital platform.

"It will bolster the accessibility of study materials and build a strong reading culture among students. Skill-based learning has also been given a stimulus through the announcements of instituting multi-disciplinary courses for upskilling students and professionals for adept use of futuristic medical technologies," she said.

As per to, the director of, The Class of One Divya Jain, the digital library will help kids cope with the learning loss caused by the pandemic.

"These libraries can be conveniently accessed by learners of every region. Also, physical libraries will be set up, providing proper infrastructure to the learners where they have access to reading material from different genres, including languages, geography, and subjects of different levels," she said.

The principal of MRG School, Rohini, Anshu Mittal, said the setting up the digital library to facilitate books and learning materials from different genres will help students cope with the learning loss they suffered during the pandemic.

"The measures to ensure age-appropriate reading material will help people take up studies that they left due to societal reasons. Promoting financial literacy from a younger age will also benefit students in the long run," she said.

ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਛੋਟੀ ਬਚਤ ਸਕੀਮ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਬੱਚਤ ਪੱਤਰ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।  ਇਸ 'ਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ 2 ਲੱਖ ਦੀ ਬਚਤ 'ਤੇ 7.5 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਵਿਆਜ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਐਲਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਾਫੀ ਤਾਰੀਫ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

Prime Minister Narendra said the Union Budget 2023 gave priority to the deprived and would fulfill the dreams of aspirational society, farmers and middle class. "The first budget of Amrit Kaal will build a strong foundation for building a developed India. It gives priority to the deprived. This budget will fulfil the dreams of an aspirational society, including poor people, middle-class people, and farmers. I congratulate Nirmala Sitharaman and his team for this historic budget," PM Modi said in a televised address.

"Those toiling traditionally through their hands for the country, 'Vishvakarmas' are the creators of this country. For the first time scheme related to training and support for 'Vishvakarma' has been brought into the budget. Preparations have been made for their training, technology, credit and market support. PM Vishvakarma Kaushal Samman means PM Vikas will bring about a huge change in the lives of crores of Vishwakarma," the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Modi underlined the government's efforts to enhance the lives of women.

"The government has taken several steps to make the lives of women, in rural and urban areas, easy. Women's self-help groups will further enhance them. Special savings scheme will be started empowering women in households," the PM said.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2023 in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. This was the third time in a row that the government presented the budget in a paperless form.

While speaking during the presentation of the Union Budget 2023, Sitharaman said, “A system of unified filing processes will be set up so that agencies can get data from a common portal as per the choice of those filing returns.”

She further said that if MSMEs fail to execute contract, 95 per cent of performance security will be returned to small business as part of Vivad Se Vishwas scheme. This scheme Vivad Se Vishwas provides for settlement of disputed tax, interests, penalty or fees in relation to an assessment or reassessment order on payment of 100 per cent of the disputed tax and 25 per cent of the disputed penalty or interest or fee.

The common identifiers will be used for Aadhar and Digilocker. PAN is a 10-digit alphanumeric number allotted by the income tax department to a person, firm or entity

She also said Aadhar and Digilocker will be used as common identifiers.

The Income Tax department on December 24, 2022, also issued an advisory that those permanent account numbers which are not linked with Aadhaar by the end of March next year will be rendered “inoperative”.

The Permanent Account Number (PAN) will be used as a common business identifier for all digital systems of specified government agencies. This will facilitate ease of doing business and will be implemented with a legal mandate, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.

Speaking during the presentation of the Union Budget 2023, Ms. Sitharaman said, “A system of unified filing processes will be set up so that agencies can get data from a common portal as per the choice of those filing returns.”

She further elaborated by saying that Aadhar and Digilocker will be used as common identifiers.

The PAN is a 10-digit alphanumeric number which is allotted by the IT Department to a person, firm or entity; while the Aadhaar is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India to a resident of India.

Under Digital India programme, Digilocker is an initiative by the government where citizens can get authentic documents/certificates in digital format from the original issuers of these certificates. This programme aims in reducing the use of physical documents. This also enhances the effectiveness of service delivery, making these hassle free and friendly for the citizens.

Finance Minister also said that Phase-III of e-courts will be launched. The state support mission of Niti Aayog will continue for three years, the finance minister said.

ਕਾਬਿਲੇਗੌਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਈ ਕੈਦੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਕੱਟ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪੈਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕਈ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕਰਵਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗਰੀਬ ਕੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਅਜਿਹੇ 'ਚ ਆਮ ਬਜਟ 'ਚ ਬਿਜਲਈ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਸਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬੈਟਰੀਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਕਸਟਮ ਡਿਊਟੀ 'ਚ ਛੋਟ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਲਿਥੀਅਮ ਆਇਨ ਬੈਟਰੀ ਪੈਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੈੱਲਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਜੀਐਸਟੀ 18 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ 13 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਜਾਣਨਾ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ 'ਚ ਲਿਥੀਅਮ ਸੈੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅੱਜ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਵਾਯੂ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੜਕਾਂ 'ਤੇ 1.4 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਬਿਜਲਈ ਵਾਹਨ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

The government has increased the income tax rebate limit to Rs  7 lakh from Rs 5 lakh under the new tax regime.  Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also allowed a Rs 50,000 standard deduction to taxpayers under the new regime, where assessees cannot claim deductions or exemptions on their investments.

In Budget 2020-21, the government had introduced optional income tax regime under which individuals and Hindu Undivided Families were to be taxed at lower rates if they did not avail specified exemptions and deductions such as house rent allowance (HRA), interest on home loan, investments made under Section 80C, 80D and 80CCD. Under this, total income up to Rs 2.5 lakh was tax-exempt.

New tax slabs

There will be no tax for income up to Rs 3 lakh

Income between Rs 3 and Rs 6 lakh will be taxed at 5 per cent

Income between between Rs 6 and 9 lakh will be taxed at 10 per cent

Income between Rs 9 and Rs 12 lakh will be levied tax at 15 per cent

Income between Rs12 and Rs 15 lakh will have tax at 20 per cent

Income of Rs 15 lakh and above will be taxed at 30 per cent

Old tax slabs

Income up to Rs 2.5 lakh is exempt from taxation under old tax regime

 Income between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 5 lakh is taxed at the rate of 5 per cent 

Personal income from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh is taxed at rate of 15 per cent 

Income between Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh is taxed at a rate of 20 per cent 

Income above ₹10 lakh is taxed at 30 per cent

The new tax regime is the default one. However, one can also avail the benefits of the old regime on opt-out basis, says FM  Nirmala Sitharaman.

These slabs will be modified as per the Budget announcement with effect from April 1.

"At least 50 additional airports, helipads, water aero drones, and advanced landing grounds will be revived to improve regional air connectivity," said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha.

She started her Budget speech at 11 am, the last full Budget of the Modi government in its second term. Like the previous two Union Budgets, Union Budget 2023-24 is also presented in paperless form. This year's Budget holds much significance as the country is scheduled to have the next Lok Sabha election in April-May 2024.

As per established tradition, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with ministers of state Pankaj Chaudhary and Bhagwat Karad and Finance Secretary T V Somanathan called on President Droupadi Murmu. This is the fifth budget presentation by Sitharaman.

The Budget session of the Parliament began on Tuesday with President's address, subsequently tabling the Economic Survey for 2022-23. The formal exercise to prepare the annual Budget for the next financial year (2023-24) commenced on October 10.

The Economic Survey, tabled in the Parliament on Tuesday, noted India's GDP is expected to grow in the range of 6 to 6.8 per cent in the coming financial year 2023-24. This is in comparison to the estimated 7 per cent this fiscal and 8.7 per cent in 2021-22.

ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਜਟ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬਜਟ ਐਸਿਟਮੇਟ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਬਜਟ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿੱਤ ਸਾਲ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਜੋ ਕਮਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਖਰਚ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਜਟ ਐਸਿਟਮੇਟ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। 

ਬਜਟ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਰਿਵਾਈਜ਼ਡ ਐਸਿਟਮੇਟ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਸੋਧ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਕਮਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਖਰਚ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਸੋਧ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਵਾਈਜਡ ਐਸਿਟਮੇਟ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। 

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਬਜਟ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਐਕਚੁਅਲ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਮਤਲਬ ਅਸਲ ’ਚ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਰਕਰ ਨੇ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਖਰਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਐਕਚੁਅਲ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। 

ਬਜਟ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਫਿਸਕਲ ਸਰਪਲੱਸ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਜੇਕਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਖਰਚ ਘੱਟ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਹਿਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਮੁਨਾਫੇ ਚ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਫਿਸਕਲ ਸਰਪਲੱਸ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। 

ਇਸਦੇ ਹੀ ਉਲਟ ਫਿਸਕਲ ਡੇਫਿਸਿਟ ਯਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਘਾਟਾ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਘੱਟ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਖਰਚ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਘਾਟੇ ’ਚ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਸਕਲ ਡੇਫਿਸਿਟ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has described the Union Budget 2023 the first budget of 'Amrit kaal'. The economic growth has been projected at 7 per cent, the highest among the major economies. The Union Budget 2023 also listed seven priorities.

While presenting the Union Budget 2023, Finance Minister Niramala Sitharaman said, "The Indian economy has increased in size and became the fifth largest to the 10th largest economy in the last nine years."

Costlier: Headphones and earphones,  umbrella, imitation jewellery; smart meters, solar cells, solar modules, X-ray machines and parts of electronic toys

While preparing Union Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was helped by a team of people, which included Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran. Other members included Finance Secretary TV Somanathan, Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth, DIPAM Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra and Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi. 

Since budget affects every sector of society and each individual eagerly awaits for  it every year, budget preparation involves hard work as well as dedication and seriousness.

"We envision a prosperous and inclusive India," Sitharaman said in her opening remarks. In her Union Budget 2023 speech, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that an Agriculture Accelerator Fund would be set up to encourage agri-startups by young entrepreneurs.

"Will launch a sub-scheme of the existing PM Matsya Sampada Yojana scheme to improve value chain efficiencies," she said.

Sitharaman started her Budget speech at 11 am, the last full Budget of the Modi government in its second term. Like the previous two Union Budgets, Union Budget 2023-24 is also presented in paperless form.

Union Budget 2023 holds much significance as the country is scheduled to have the next Lok Sabha election in April-May 2024.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said, "Ever since the Modi government has been formed, it brings the budget keeping in mind all sections of the society." Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2023 in the Lok Sabha today at 11 am.

To a question on tax slab or relief for people belonging to the middle class this time, Chaudhary said, "Definitely, this budget will live up to everyone's expectations."

Citing Economic Survey 2022-23, tabled in Parliament on the inaugural day of the Budget Session, Chaudhary said India's economy was on track.

Earlier, in an interview given to ANI, Pankaj Chowdhary had replied to questions about whether the Union Budget 2023 will be presented keeping in view the 2024 Lok Sabha election and the upcoming Assembly elections.

Ahead of the Budget session, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary on Tuesday told ANI "elections keep coming," the Union Budget for 2023-24 will focus on improving the economic conditions of the people.

ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਸੀਤਾਰਮਨ ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰੇ 11 ਵਜੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਉਤੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਟਿਕੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਹਰ ਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਪਟਾਰੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ-ਨਾ-ਕੁਝ ਰਾਹਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੱਧ ਵਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਨਅਤ ਜਗਤ ਆਲਮੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਕੁਝ ਰਾਹਤ ਦਾ ਬੇਸਬਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਕਾਬਿਲੇਗੌਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ (Economic survey) ਵਿਚ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਅਰਥਚਾਰਾ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਾਲ 2023-24 ਵਿਚ 6.5 ਫੀਸਦ ਦੀ ਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜਦਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਤ ਫੀਸਦੀ ਦੀ ਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

ਪਿਛਲੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦਰ 8.7 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਸੀ। ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਧਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਰਥਚਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਕੁੱਲ ਆਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਅਸਧਾਰਨ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਤੇ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਝਣ 'ਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਨੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਵਧਦੀ ਮਹਿੰਗਾਈ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਬਜਟ ’ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਰਾਹਤ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਟਰੇਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਫਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਬਜਟ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਜਤਾਈ ਹੈ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਵੀ ਹਨ। 

ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਏਐਨਆਈ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵੰਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਲੇਟ ਟ੍ਰੇਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ’ਚ ਹਰ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬੁਲੇਟ ਟ੍ਰੇਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਲਦ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਟਰੇਨਾਂ ’ਚ ਸਾਫ ਸਫਾਈ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸਫਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਟਰੇਨਾਂ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਦਾ ਕਿਰਾਇਆ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਧਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ’ਚ ਵਧੇ ਕਿਰਾਏ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ਦੇ ਟਿਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਘਟਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। 

ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਫਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਵਧੀਆ ਸੁਵੀਧਾਵਾਂ ਹੋਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਕੁਝ ਬਜਟਾਂ 'ਚ ਟੈਕਸਦਾਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਆਇਤਾਂ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਬਜਟਾਂ 'ਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਐਲਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਟੈਕਸਦਾਤਾਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਬੋਝ ਵਧਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇਕ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਬਜਟ ਵੀ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ 'ਚ ਵਿਆਹੇ ਤੇ ਅਣਵਿਆਹੇ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਆਮਦਨ ਟੈਕਸ ਸਲੈਬ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

1955-56 ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਬਜਟ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਹੇ ਤੇ ਕੁਆਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਨਕਮ ਟੈਕਸ ਸਲੈਬ ਅਲੱਗ-ਅਲੱਗ ਰੱਖੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਦੋਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੀ.ਡੀ.ਦੇਸ਼ਮੁਖ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਜਟ 'ਚ ਵਿਆਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਇਨਕਮ ਟੈਕਸ ਸਲੈਬ ਬਣਾਈ ਸੀ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਟੈਕਸ ਸਲੈਬ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੀਡੀ ਦੇਸ਼ਮੁਖ ਨੇ ਵਿਆਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਟੈਕਸ ਛੋਟ ਸਲੈਬ 1,500 ਤੋਂ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ 2,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਅਣਵਿਆਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ 1,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

As per process, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be tabling the document in Parliament. Later, Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V Anantha Nageswaran will unveil the document to the public. The Economic Survey gives projections for economic growth for Financial Year 2022 and 23.

What is Economic Survey?

The Economic Survey document is divided into Volume I, Volume II, and statistical appendix. it reviews economic and financial trends in the country nation in the past year. It has a detailed presentation on all sectors, besides analysing trends in agricultural and industrial production, infrastructure, employment, inflation rate, trade, foreign exchange reserves, and other economic areas.

It helps the government allocate resources more efficiently in the Union Budget. It also comes to the aide of policymakers while identifying the main challenges to the nation’s GDP growth. 

In a nut shell, the Economic Survey will be giving us better understanding of the Budget that is to be presented on February 1. The Economic Survey is prepared by the Economics Division of the Ministry of Finance's Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), and under the guidance of the CEA.
