Badshah shares ‘Tateeree Phir Se’ teaser

The new version, “Tateeree Phir Se,” is scheduled to release on April 14. Badshah described it as the next chapter in the song’s journey and expressed gratitude to fans for their continued support.

The teaser for the new version offers a glimpse into its vibrant visual style. It opens with a strong desi atmosphere, featuring men in traditional North Indian attire gathered around vehicles in a small-town setting, creating an earthy and rooted feel.

As the teaser progresses, it transitions into high-energy and stylish visuals showcasing desert landscapes, luxury cars, and sleek fashion shots. Quick glimpses of choreography and bursts of color hint at a grand, visually engaging music video.

The teaser concludes with a bold title card announcing “Tateeree Phir Se” along with the release date-14.04.2026.

Badshah pledges to support 50 girls 

Earlier, Badshah had also issued an apology to the National Commission for Women (NCW). During the hearing, he assured the panel that he would take corrective measures in response to the situation.

According to reports, the artist has committed to creating a song centered on women’s empowerment within the next four months. In addition, he has pledged to sponsor the education of 50 girls and support fundraising initiatives dedicated to women’s welfare.

Delhi High Court on copyright dispute

The Delhi High Court on Thursday referred a copyright dispute between Trimurti Films and filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios to mediation. The case revolves around the song “Rang De Lal Oye Oye” featured in Dhurandhar 2.

Justice Tushar Rao Gedela observed that the dispute appears to be largely financial in nature, involving issues like royalty and compensation. The Court suggested that both parties attempt a settlement through mediation and directed the appointment of a senior mediator.

Allegations of copyright infringement

Trimurti Films has accused the makers of Dhurandhar 2 of using music from the iconic track “Tirchi Topiwala” without obtaining the necessary permissions. The original song, from the 1989 film Tridev starring Sunny Deol, was composed by Anand–Milind with lyrics by Anand Bakshi and remains a popular track.

In its plea, Trimurti Films claimed:

• The song in Dhurandhar 2 is either directly used or substantially similar
• No licence or permission was obtained
• The track has been commercially exploited through theatrical release, digital streaming, and promotions

Senior Advocate Swathi Sukumar, representing Trimurti Films, argued that even the standalone availability of the song on digital platforms amounts to unauthorised use.

Box Office Success graph grows

Despite the controversy, Dhurandhar 2 remains unstoppable at the box office. Released on March 19, the sequel builds on the success of the first installment that hit theatres in December. The film explores the backstory of Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, tracing his journey from Lyari to becoming a powerful figure.

Featuring a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, the film has struck a strong chord with audiences. The film has a worldwide gross of Rs 1,653.67 crore with its India total collection at Rs 1200 crore mark. 

The buzz began when a video surfaced online showing a meeting between the families of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal. In the clip, Palash’s sister, Palak Muchhal, is seen greeting Smriti’s father with a traditional gesture of respect. Also present was singer Mithoon.

The hearing was attended by directors Joban Sandhu and Mahavir Singh, along with producer Hiten. It was chaired by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, who expressed serious concern over the song’s lyrics and presentation. She stated that the content had harmed the dignity and decency of women and directed all those involved to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future.

Controversy of Badshah's song 

Released in March, Tateeree quickly drew backlash for its lyrics and visuals. Multiple FIRs were filed in Haryana, and the state women’s panel initiated action against the creators. Amid mounting criticism, the song was eventually taken down, and Badshah had earlier issued a public apology.

The rapper acknowledged that the song had hurt sentiments and clarified his intentions. Emphasizing his roots, he stated that he is proud of his Haryanvi identity, citing his language, lifestyle, and cultural background.

“I never intended to say anything inappropriate about any woman or child from Haryana,” he said, explaining that his work stems from the hip-hop genre, where lyrical expression often involves competitive elements. He reiterated that the song was not targeted at any individual or group and affirmed his commitment to promoting Haryana’s culture positively.

Final Notice Issued to Nora Fatehi

The NCW has granted Nora Fatehi a final opportunity to appear in person before the panel. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for April 27, 2026. During an earlier hearing held on April 6, Nora Fatehi’s lawyer appeared on her behalf, but the commission made it clear that her personal presence is mandatory.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt has been directed to appear before the commission sooner, with his hearing set for April 8, highlighting the urgency and gravity of the case.

NCW Chairperson Voices Strong Objection

The proceedings were led by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, who did not hold back in her criticism. She stated that the lyrics not only cross acceptable boundaries but also undermine the dignity of women. Rahatkar also dismissed claims from those involved that they were unaware of the meaning or implications of the lyrics, asserting that such explanations cannot justify the impact of the content.

Apology from Makers and Creative Team

During the hearing, lyricist Raqueeb Alam, director Prem, and representatives from KVN Productions appeared before the commission.

They issued a written apology, admitting that the song had hurt public sentiment. The team also pledged to actively promote women’s empowerment over the next three months and will submit a compliance report to the NCW.

Song removed amid backlash

Sarke Chunar Teri, which had been released on YouTube, quickly drew criticism for its sexually explicit lyrics. Following widespread backlash and the commission’s intervention, the song has now been taken down from the platform.

“Volume 1” is a contentious track by Yo Yo Honey Singh, released nearly two decades ago. While it achieved widespread popularity, it also drew criticism for its explicit lyrics and perceived misogynistic tone, leading to legal complaints and public protests across India.

Addressing the global rise of Punjabi music across genres, he noted, "Its very kind of you to call me the root of the tree, but I think for me to even be a branch on that tree, is a huge compliment - There are many seasons, and through each season trees look different, they adapt to the changing seasons, but the essence of the tree never changes. Pakistani pop legend Hasan Jahangir recently disclosed that he was paid $50,000 (approximately Rs 46 lakh) for the use of his classic song Hawa Hawa in a recent blockbuster film. Sanjay Dutt's entry on 'Hawa Hawa'

The inclusion of Hawa Hawa in Dhurandhar is far from incidental. The track is used during a pivotal sequence introducing Sanjay Dutt’s character, SP Chaudhary Aslam. Jahangir confirmed during an appearance on ARY Digital’s Shan-e-Sahoor that the filmmakers had obtained proper permissions and compensated him appropriately for the track’s usage.

Reflecting on the renewed popularity of his music, Jahangir noted that several of his older songs-such as Hato Bacho, Hawa Hawa, and Ajana e dil e dewana-continue to resonate with modern audiences and filmmakers alike.

Beyond Hawa Hawa, Dhurandhar also leans heavily into nostalgia with a soundtrack featuring reimagined classics. Songs like Na Toh Karvan Ki Talaash Hai, Ramba Ho, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, and Na De Dil Pardesi Nu contribute to the film’s retro appeal, enhancing both its emotional depth and audience engagement.

Despite being part of a sprawling four-hour cinematic experience, the album is notably concise, featuring just five tracks with a combined runtime of a little over 19 minutes. The album brings together a diverse lineup of artists. One of the standout elements of Dhurandhar 2 is its qawwali composition. Music director Sachdev revisits the legacy of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan by reinterpreting Jaan Se Guzarte Hain, originally a 1977 qawwali from Maikadah, Vol. 15. This rendition, featuring Khaan Saab and lyrics by Irshad Kamil, embraces a more traditional soundscape, offering a contrast to the otherwise modern tone of the album.

In addition to this, an unexpected collaboration left fans in awe of none other than Punjabi stalwarts Jasmine Sandlas and Satinder Sartaaj for track Jaiye Sajana.

Original Shoot and Lack of Awareness

Fatehi revealed that the song was originally shot years ago in Kannada, and she was unaware of how it would later be repurposed. She explained:

"I shot this song three years ago in Kannada. When I shot this song, I said yes to it because it was part of a big film and also alongside Sanjay Dutt, who would say no to it. It was a remake of what I thought was 'Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main.'"

She further stated that at the time of filming, nothing about the project appeared objectionable to her, especially given the language barrier:

"When they translated this song, nothing seemed inappropriate or vulgar to me, but I do not understand Kannada, so I rely on whatever they say to me. Whatever they have done right now, dubbing it in Hindi and the lyrics, they did not take any permission or approval from me. I had no idea about it."

As the title of the song is '410', it was released on the 10th of the fourth month.

Divine, taking to social media, unveiled the first look poster for the upcoming collaborative song 'Chorni' with the late Sidhu Moosewala and has also revealed that the music will be released this week.

Divine announced the good news by sharing the poster on Instagram and captioned, “Dil se…this a special song for me! This is from the heart…this week. CHORNI!”

Who is Rapper Divine?

Divine, real name Vivian Fernandes, is one of the names that have reshaped the gully hip-hop scene in India.

Divine grew up in the Andheri slums with his maternal grandmother. He began rapping for fun but was inspired by a gospel rap song by Lecrae.

Understanding how this medium can be used for writing about different issues, the rapper channelled all his rage into the song. He majorly wrote about alcohol, drugs, and girls.

He rose to fame following the success of his track Yeh Mera Bombay in 2011. So much so that Rolling Stone India awarded it the Best Video of the Year award in 2014.

Divine also made his smashing debut at the prestigious Grammy Awards in 2022, becoming the first homegrown hip-hop rapper to have ever graced the prestigious event.

गौरतलब है कि ‘नाटू नाटू’ गाने को 11 अप्रैल, 2022 को रिलीज किया गया था। हिंदी वर्जन के साथ-साथ यह गाना तमिल, कन्नड़, मलयालम और करिनथोल वर्जन में भी रिलीज किया गया था। फिल्म आरआरआर के गाने नाटू-नाटू के अलावा एक शॉर्ट फिल्म जो गुनीत मोंगा और कार्तिकी गोंजाल्विस की फिल्म द एलिफेंट व्हिस्परर्स है । उसको भी ऑस्कर अवॉर्ड से नवाजा गया। इस फिल्म की कहानी इंसानों और जानवरों के बॉन्ड पर आधारित है।
