Badshah to sponsor education for 50 girls

During the hearing, Badshah assured the panel that he would take corrective steps in response to the controversy. According to sources, he committed to producing a song centered on women’s empowerment within the next four months. In addition, he pledged to sponsor the education of 50 girl children and contribute to fundraising efforts for women-focused initiatives.

The hearing was attended by directors Joban Sandhu and Mahavir Singh, along with producer Hiten. It was chaired by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, who expressed serious concern over the song’s lyrics and presentation. She stated that the content had harmed the dignity and decency of women and directed all those involved to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future.

Controversy of Badshah's song 

Released in March, Tateeree quickly drew backlash for its lyrics and visuals. Multiple FIRs were filed in Haryana, and the state women’s panel initiated action against the creators. Amid mounting criticism, the song was eventually taken down, and Badshah had earlier issued a public apology.

The rapper acknowledged that the song had hurt sentiments and clarified his intentions. Emphasizing his roots, he stated that he is proud of his Haryanvi identity, citing his language, lifestyle, and cultural background.

“I never intended to say anything inappropriate about any woman or child from Haryana,” he said, explaining that his work stems from the hip-hop genre, where lyrical expression often involves competitive elements. He reiterated that the song was not targeted at any individual or group and affirmed his commitment to promoting Haryana’s culture positively.

During an earlier hearing held on April 6, Nora Fatehi’s lawyer appeared on her behalf, but the commission made it clear that her personal presence is mandatory.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt has been directed to appear before the commission sooner, with his hearing set for April 8, highlighting the urgency and gravity of the case.

NCW Chairperson Voices Strong Objection

The proceedings were led by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, who did not hold back in her criticism. She stated that the lyrics not only cross acceptable boundaries but also undermine the dignity of women. Rahatkar also dismissed claims from those involved that they were unaware of the meaning or implications of the lyrics, asserting that such explanations cannot justify the impact of the content.

Apology from Makers and Creative Team

During the hearing, lyricist Raqueeb Alam, director Prem, and representatives from KVN Productions appeared before the commission.

They issued a written apology, admitting that the song had hurt public sentiment. The team also pledged to actively promote women’s empowerment over the next three months and will submit a compliance report to the NCW.

Song removed amid backlash

Sarke Chunar Teri, which had been released on YouTube, quickly drew criticism for its sexually explicit lyrics. Following widespread backlash and the commission’s intervention, the song has now been taken down from the platform.

“In whatever forms this song is available on social media platforms, it has to be taken down is clearly the opinion. No one can deny this. We cannot allow even the slightest of it to be on social media,” the Court said. 

“Volume 1” is a contentious track by Yo Yo Honey Singh, released nearly two decades ago. While it achieved widespread popularity, it also drew criticism for its explicit lyrics and perceived misogynistic tone, leading to legal complaints and public protests across India. 

As per the reports, court took a firm position on the nature of the song, emphasizing that creative expression does not exist in isolation from societal values. It observed that content widely accessible to the public must adhere to certain standards of decency, especially in an era where digital reach amplifies impact across age groups and communities.

The court directed authorities and platforms to ensure that the song is removed in all forms whether as full audio tracks, short clips, or adapted versions. This underscores the growing accountability of digital intermediaries in regulating and moderating content hosted on their platforms.

Pakistani pop legend Hasan Jahangir recently disclosed that he was paid $50,000 (approximately Rs 46 lakh) for the use of his classic song Hawa Hawa in a recent blockbuster film. While he did not explicitly name the project, he mentioned that the film was made on a budget of Rs 300 crore and went on to earn a staggering Rs 1,100 crore at the box office. Fans were quick to connect the dots, identifying the film as Dhurandhar.

Sanjay Dutt's entry on 'Hawa Hawa'

The inclusion of Hawa Hawa in Dhurandhar is far from incidental. The track is used during a pivotal sequence introducing Sanjay Dutt’s character, SP Chaudhary Aslam. ]]><![CDATA[ Nora Fatehi breaks silence on ‘Sarke Chunar Teri’ controversy, says 'Had No Idea' ]]>Actor-dancer Nora Fatehi has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the song Sarke Chunar Teri, clarifying her involvement and distancing herself from the Hindi version that has sparked backlash.

Original Shoot and Lack of Awareness

Fatehi revealed that the song was originally shot years ago in Kannada, and she was unaware of how it would later be repurposed. She explained:

"I shot this song three years ago in Kannada. When I shot this song, I said yes to it because it was part of a big film and also alongside Sanjay Dutt, who would say no to it. It was a remake of what I thought was 'Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main.'"

She further stated that at the time of filming, nothing about the project appeared objectionable to her, especially given the language barrier:

"When they translated this song, nothing seemed inappropriate or vulgar to me, but I do not understand Kannada, so I rely on whatever they say to me. Whatever they have done right now, dubbing it in Hindi and the lyrics, they did not take any permission or approval from me. I had no idea about it."

Nora Fatehi emphasized that she neither approved nor participated in the Hindi adaptation of the track. 
Sharing her side of the story, she wrote, "I would hate for anyone to think I endorse this.. thank you for the backlash because of this pressure the filmmakers have luckily taken it down ????????
Id also request everyone to stop sharing the song because ur just giving it a platform unnecessarily.
On a side note I see some of u guys trying to use this as an opportunity to attack my character..it’s unfortunate????

Song received backlash

The controversy has drawn strong reactions from various quarters. The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA), actor Kangana Ranaut, and singer Armaan Malik have criticized the song for its objectionable lyrics.

According to reports, an advocate has approached the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), seeking an immediate ban and removal of the song, alleging that its lyrics and visuals are obscene and potentially harmful, especially to minors.

Legal Developments
The issue has also taken a legal turn, with a criminal complaint reportedly filed with the Delhi Police Cyber Cell regarding the song.

Diljit made the announcement on Instagram Stories. "Surprise!" he wrote. @siamusic is the one and only Queen. Hass Hass is a brand new tune," he said.

Sia also shared the same album artwork, which features both of them in their signature styles.

"Creating 'Hass Hass' with Sia has been a memorable journey. This collaboration is exceptionally special, as Sia has ventured into singing in Punjabi. She is effortless and absolutely incredible. This song is all about spreading happiness and positivity, and we hope it touches the hearts of people across the globe," Sia, Diljit said while sharing his excitement.

Meanwhile, Cheap Thrills, Unstoppable, and Chandelier are among Sia's global chartbusters.

Diljit, on the other hand, rose to prominence with songs like 'Proper Patola,' 'Do You Know,' and 'Patiala Peg,' among others. He has also appeared in a number of Punjabi films.

Diljit has performed in stadiums and arenas in the United States (Prudential Center, EagleBank Arena, American Airlines Center, YouTube Theater), the United Kingdom (O2 Arena), and Canada (Rogers Arena Vancouver Scotiabank Arena Toronto).

Who is Rapper Divine?


Divine, real name Vivian Fernandes, is one of the names that have reshaped the gully hip-hop scene in India.

Divine grew up in the Andheri slums with his maternal grandmother. He began rapping for fun but was inspired by a gospel rap song by Lecrae.

Understanding how this medium can be used for writing about different issues, the rapper channelled all his rage into the song. He majorly wrote about alcohol, drugs, and girls.

He rose to fame following the success of his track Yeh Mera Bombay in 2011. So much so that Rolling Stone India awarded it the Best Video of the Year award in 2014.

Divine also made his smashing debut at the prestigious Grammy Awards in 2022, becoming the first homegrown hip-hop rapper to have ever graced the prestigious event.

With chart-topping hits like "What's Love Got to Do with It," Turner became an MTV sensation and an emblem of 1980s style. Known for her powerful voice and captivating performances, she won six Grammy Awards and landed multiple songs in the Top 40, including "Typical Male" and "The Best."

Throughout her career, Turner was open about her past experiences of abuse during her marriage and musical partnership with guitarist Ike Turner. ]]><![CDATA[ ऑस्कर में फिल्म RRR ने रचा इतिहास, 'नाटू-नाटू’ को मिला बेस्ट ओरिजिनल सॉन्ग का अवॉर्ड, भारत को पहली बार मिले दो अवॉर्ड ]]>ब्यूरो:  वक्त था 95वें ऑस्कर अवॉर्ड सेरेमनी का। इस अवॉर्ड समारोह में एसएस राजामौली की फिल्म ‘आरआरआर’ ने इतिहास रच दिया है। भारत के पास अब दो ऑस्कर अवार्ड हो गए हैं। 

आपको बता दें कि इस बार भारत से तीन फिल्मों ने अलग-अलग कैटेगरीज में अपनी-अपनी दावेदारी पेश की थी। जिसके बाद तीन फिल्मों से दो फिल्मों ने ऑस्कर में बाजी मार दिखाई। सबसे पहले फिल्म ‘आरआरआर’ के सॉन्ग ‘नाटू-नाटू’ को बेस्ट ऑरिजनल सॉन्ग की कैटेगरी में नॉमिनेट किया गया था। जिसके बाद अवॉर्ड जीतने के बाद फिल्म निर्मताओं की खुशी का ठिकाना नहीं रहा। अवॉर्ड जीतने के बाद एक बार फिर भारत का डंका पूरे देश में बजा है । 

गौरतलब है कि ‘नाटू नाटू’ गाने को 11 अप्रैल, 2022 को रिलीज किया गया था। हिंदी वर्जन के साथ-साथ यह गाना तमिल, कन्नड़, मलयालम और करिनथोल वर्जन में भी रिलीज किया गया था। फिल्म आरआरआर के गाने नाटू-नाटू के अलावा एक शॉर्ट फिल्म जो गुनीत मोंगा और कार्तिकी गोंजाल्विस की फिल्म द एलिफेंट व्हिस्परर्स है । उसको भी ऑस्कर अवॉर्ड से नवाजा गया। इस फिल्म की कहानी इंसानों और जानवरों के बॉन्ड पर आधारित है। 

जैसे ही भारत ने ऑस्कर अवॉर्ड्स जीते उसके बाद से ही फिल्मी जगत के साथ नेताओं ने भी बधाई देना शुरू कर दिया। बधाई संदेश में सभी का यह कहना था कि आज एक बार फिर भारत ने यह साबित कर दिया है कि वह किसी भी क्षेत्र में पीछे नहीं है। इस मौके पर फिल्म अभिनेत्री दीपिका पादुकोण प्रेजेंटर के तौर पर अवॉर्ड सेरेमनी का हिस्सा बनी।
