Increase in visit visa charges

Under the new pricing framework, the cost of a short-term visit visa (valid for up to six months) has been increased from £127 to £135. Long-term visit visas have also seen notable hikes.

This new initiative comes through Blinkit’s partnership with Adani Airports. Travellers can now order from over 2,500 products, including phone chargers, books, gifts, snacks, and other essentials, directly through the Blinkit app.

The video has reignite safety concerns regarding adventure sports in India. 

The video has garnered significant traction with netizens raising alarming concerns over safety of the tourists. One user said, "Poor rope quality. I think the equipment is not well-maintained. Multiple times, such incidents have happened in Goa, but no action is taken because there is no department to check equipment quality and maintenance."

Another wrote, "New fear unlocked." A third commented, "This is the safety in India."

The truck, loaded with over 4 lakh bars from a new range and weighing around 12 tonnes, was stolen on March 26 while travelling from a factory in central Italy to distributors in Poland. Nestlé said the vehicle and its cargo are still missing. The chocolates were meant to be sold across Europe and included KitKat’s new Formula One-themed bars, shaped like race cars but with the brand’s usual wafer-and-chocolate design.

"We’ve always encouraged people to have a break with KitKat," Nestle said, a callback to the brand’s iconic slogan. "But it seems thieves have taken the message too literally and made a break with more than 12 tons of our chocolate."

The company warned that the stolen products might show up in unofficial markets, but added that each bar can be traced through batch codes on the packaging. Consumers, retailers and wholesalers can scan these codes to check if a product is part of the stolen shipment and report it if needed.

“We are working closely with authorities and supply partners to investigate,” the company said, adding that there is no risk to consumer safety and regular supply remains unaffected.

A Canada-based YouTuber had levelled allegations against Ghuggi, claiming he had paid Rs 5 crore to a girl with whom he allegedly had a relationship, and that she had become pregnant. Ghuggi has categorically denied these claims.

In a video, Gurpreet Ghuggi said his entire life spanning 35 to 40 years has been built on sheer hard work. He made it clear that he neither fears nor bows down to such pressure tactics. He said the girl too suffered mental trauma as a result of the controversy.

A complaint has been formally filed with the Cyber Crime department. Ghuggi also hinted that he is aware of the individuals and forces behind this campaign, and warned that if the matter escalates, he is fully prepared to approach the courts.

Expressing his sentiments, Ghuggi recited a couplet:

"Vo samandar khangaalne mein lage hain,

Hamari kamiyan nikaalne mein lage hain,

Jinki khud ki langotiyan hain phati hui,

He also stated with conviction: "My stature has only grown further;  every attempt to cut me down and reduce me to your size, just as before, will fail."

The jury maintained that both companies failed to warn users about the risks linked to features like auto-play, endless scrolling and algorithms designed to keep users engaged for longer periods.

During the trial, Mark Zuckerberg and Adam Mosseri appeared in court. Mosseri argued that the term “social media addiction” is not accurate and preferred calling it “problematic usage.” A Google representative said that YouTube is mainly a video streaming platform, not a social media service.

The case also included TikTok and Snapchat, but both companies settled before the trial began.

Meta has said it will challenge the decision. The company stated that it does not agree with the verdict and plans to appeal, adding that teen mental health is a complex issue.

Legal experts believe this ruling could have a wider impact. It may weaken protections under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which usually shields online platforms from being held responsible for user content. The verdict could also lead to stricter rules for tech companies, especially regarding child safety and mental health.

The issue began during promotions last year, when his enactment of the Daiva (Bhoota Kola) tradition was perceived by some as offensive to religious sentiments. The actor has attempted to have a FIR and a private complaint against him, and the case is currently being heard in the Karnataka High Court. 

During the hearing, the court expressed concern over the nature of the act, observing that such behaviour was inappropriate and highlighting the responsibility of public figures to be mindful of cultural and religious sensitivities. The prosecution also questioned the authenticity of the apology earlier shared on social media, suggesting it may not have been directly posted by the actor.

In response, Ranveer’s councel stated that the actor is genuinely distressed and will submit a formal apology to the court. His lawyer further informed the bench that an affidavit offering an unconditional apology will be filed before the next hearing, scheduled for April 10. Additionally, the actor has expressed willingness to visit the Chamundi Temple in Mysore to apologise in person as a gesture of goodwill.

Following backlash in December 2025, Ranveer issued an apology on Instagram, stating that his intent was to appreciate the performance. He wrote, “My intention was to highlight Rishab’s incredible performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know how much it takes to perform that particular scene the way he did, for which he has my utmost admiration. I have always deeply respected every culture, tradition, and belief in our country. If I’ve hurt anyone’s sentiments, I sincerely apologise.”

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and co-starring Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, has reportedly grossed ₹844.76 crore worldwide.

Police said the content is being removed through proper legal steps, working closely with social media platforms. Notices have been sent to delete all versions of the song, including short clips and re-uploads.

Haryana’s top police officer, Ajay Singhal, said that any content disrespecting women or minors will not be accepted. Police are closely monitoring online platforms and warned that anyone sharing the song may face legal action. 

Tanyaradzwa Prospera Dengu, a final-year Mechanical Engineering diploma student at a private university in Punjab, shot the video during a trip to Jagraon with friends. While travelling, he noticed a local bus conductor calling out to passengers , a common sight on Punjab’s roads. He decided to recreate the scene himself. With the conductor’s help behind the camera, Tanyaradzwa stepped into the role, enthusiastically inviting passengers and even speaking snippets of Punjabi, which resonated widely with viewers.

In a conversation, he shared that he moved to India in 2023 and began experimenting with vlogging soon after. What started as a casual attempt quickly gained traction, especially among students. “I gave it a try once and the response was overwhelming. That motivated me to continue,” he said.
