SAD asks Phoolka to clarify whether he has resigned as MLA or not
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked legislator H S Phoolka to clarify whether he had resigned from AAP or not and also tell why he was meeting Congress ministers surreptitiously in the Vidhan Sabha and even taking directions from them.
SAD legislators led by former ministers Bikram Singh Majithia and Parminder Singh Dhindsa today while talking to newsmen in the media gallery of the Vidhan Sabha asked Mr Phoolka to disclose whether it was ethical and moral on his part to attend the Vidhan Sabha after resigning from AAP as well as member of the State assembly.
Mr Majithia said it was also shocking that Mr Phoolka was called for a surreptitious meeting by Congress minister Sukhjinder Randhawa today. “Not only did Mr Phoolka confer with Congress ministers in the central hall but also moved a resolution demanding early elections to the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee (SGPC) on the directions of chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh. This is proved from the fact the CM endorsed the resolution promptly”.
Asking Mr Phoolka to tell Punjabis why he was taking orders from Capt Amarinder, the Akali leader said yesterday also Mr Phoolka had thanked the chief minister for working to ensure jail term to 1984 genocide perpetrator Sajjan Kumar. “The truth is that Capt Amarinder shielded 1984 genocide perpetrators in the last assembly session. People want to know what match fixing is going on. Is Mr Phoolka above the constitution that he can continue in the assembly after voluntarily giving up his membership of AAP? The tenth schedule of the constitution is clear that he should be disqualified but it seems the Congress is deliberately not doing so as part of a deal with him”, Mr Majithia added.
The Akali leader said the Congress party on its part was stifling the voice of farmers with the Speaker refusing to entertain the call attention motion on farmer suicides. Mr Majithia said the Speaker said the call attention motion had been rejected because it was received two hours before the assembly commenced today. Showing the receipt of the call attention motion received by the Speaker’s office yesterday, Mr Majithia said the facts were otherwise. “The Speaker also said the issue was not important and urgent in nature despite the fact that 919 farmers have committed suicide in the last twenty two months”.
Speaking on the occasion former minister Parminder Dhindsa said AAP was continuing to function as a B team of the Congress party in the assembly. “The leader of opposition party Harpal Cheema has surrendered before the Congress because he knows he will no longer be in his chair in case the Speaker takes a decision on the resignations submitted by AAP legislators”, he added.
Others present on the occasion included Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Rozy Barkandi,Harinderpal Chandumajra,Pawan Kumar Tinu,NK Sharma ,Dilraj Bhundar,Baldev khaira, Dr.Sukhwinder Sukhi,Arun Narang,Dinesh Kumar Babbu.
