SAD core committee holds emergency meeting on “the assault on Sikh history and heritage”

SAD core committee holds emergency meeting on “the assault on Sikh history and heritage” The Shiromani Akali Dal today  declared that it would launch a “a massive struggle” to force the Congress party and its government in  Punjab to “apologise to the Khalsa Panth for  deliberate and persistent insults cast against the great Guru Sahibaan in the history books meant for 10+2 students in Punjab School Education Board.”  Declaring this, the SAD president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal told newsmen that the party leaders would perform an Ardas at Shri Akal Takhat Sahib on November 1 before launching the struggle to bring the CM Amarinder Singh and the Congress  government in Punjab down on its knees for its brazen assault on the sacred image of the great Sikh Guru Sahiban, especially Guru Arjan Dev ji, Gur Hargoibind ji , Gur Tegh Bahadur Sahib and the tenth Guru Guru Gobind Singh ji. The details of the struggle would be announced in Amritsar after the Ardas. He also demanded the registration of criminal cases against   those associated with the preparation of such outrageous sacrilegious material  and that they be dismissed from their respective positions and punished .  The new books containing these humiliating portions must be banned and with withdrawn immediately and be replaced with the old books which had been in use for decades,” said Mr Badal. Mr Badal said that if the Congress government did not accept the demand to undo the damage immediately, “it should prepare to face the wrath of the Khalsa Panth. The SAD struggle will continue till the Congress  is brought to its knees before the might of the Panth,” he said. The Core Committee of the party held an emergency meeting at the party headquarters here this afternoon  to consider the issue of “sacrilegious distortions in the history of the Great Guru Sahiban and deliberate  insults cast on their heroic acts.” Giving details, the party spokesperson Harcharan Bains said that the meeting, which lasted nearly four hours,  was  chaired by the SAD president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal and was  attended among others , by the former Chief Minister Sardar  Parkash Singh Badal  and the president of the SGPC Jathedar Gobind Singh Logowal . The Core Committee  members were shocked at the “deep-rooted conspiracy of the Congress party behind not only  the deliberate distortion of the Sikh history but also over the casting of  insults on the great Gurus by the Congress government  through the new books , describing the holy figures as “deserters, absconders, patrons of irreligious criminals.” These portions of history as they appear in the new  PSEB text book were read out to  the Core Committee members by the party senior president Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema. Addressing the media after the meeting which had been specially convened to discuss the “ assault on Sikh history, heritage and traditions”,   Sardar  Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “ It is hard to believe that these scurrilous and sacrilegious  distortions of history had been included AFTER the Punjab government had earlier been forced to remove some other similar sacrilegious portions from the same books. This shows that this is not an inadvertent act but that the Congress government is working on a deep rooted conspiracy to destroy and disfigure the history of the great Guru Sahibaan. The Khalsa Panth, the entire Punjab and the SAD would never tolerate this .’ Also Read: Amritsar tragedy : SAD core committee demands Navjot Sidhu be sacked and arrest of Mrs Navjot Kaur Sidhu and organizers of Dussehra function Mr Badal pointed out the new history books of the Punjab government claim that he the Fifth guru Shri gur Arjan Dev ji was not martyred by the Mughals but was merely fined.
