SAD delegation gets rousing welcome in Canada,US
Chandigarh: On the second lag of their tour the high level SAD delegation consisting of Mr.Sohan Singh Thandal, Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra (both cabinet ministers) and Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhundar, Member Parliament, reached Canada. Punjabi community of Canada extended a rousing welcome to the SAD leaders at a special function organised at Gurudwara of Vancouver. The function was organized by Khalsa Diwan Society. Disclosing this an official spokesperson of SAD said that during this occasion members of the Punjabi diasporas expressed their satisfaction over the working of Akali Government in Punjab. They also assured the visiting delegation their full support and expressed willingness in unison that Shiromani Akali Dal should remain at the helm of affairs in Punjab to lead the Punjabis in this hour of crisis. Canadian Sikhs also shared their woes they are facing while living in another country especially the attacks on 'saabat surat' Sikhs in the cases of mistaken identity. They urged the SAD leaders to take up such cases with the UNO to secure the religious identity and freedom for the Sikhs living in different countries of the world. SAD leaders were overwhelmed with the response of the NRIs in Caneda towards the working and policies of the SAD government. While expressing their gratitude towards the Punjabi diasporas the SAD leaders assured them that they would leave no stone unturned to mitigate the problems of NRIs whether in Punjab or in any foreign land.
