The complaint said since Mr Raveen Thukral was a government servant he could not disseminate political news and press releases on his facebook page as was being done by him. Terming this as a grave violation of the model code of conduct, Mr Brar said action should be initiated against Mr Thukral for indulging in serious misconduct. Mr Brar said the Media Advisor was also indulging in political activities and even monitoring and supervising the distribution of press releases of the Congress party. He said action, including relieving him of his post, should be taken for willfully and deliberately violating the model code of conduct. The complaint said both officers were residents of Bathinda as per the grading list and therefore should not have remained posted there following the imposition of the model code. The complaint asked the CEC to relieve both officers immediately and post them out of Bathinda besides taking action against them as per service rules for violating the model code.
